Although environmental protection has become less of a hot topic oer the last two years, it's still a popular theme in games. The latest title with a "green" spin is Build It Green: Back to the Beach, from developer Nat Geo Games. The new building simulation, which could be the twin of Merscom's Plan It Green, asks the player to revamp various polluted districts into prime examples of green suburbs and industrial zones.
Star Crossed Love Review
Most hidden object games include a handful of puzzles to break up the action. Star Crossed Love turns that formula upside-down by including almost nothing but puzzles, with little bits of hidden object searching scattered here and there. But just like in "regular" hidden object games, most of these puzzles aren't particularly good, and the hidden object gameplay isn't any better. Throw in a few poor design choices and a clumsy interface and what you end up with is a star-crossed game that really isn't very easy to love.
VVVVVV Review
Sometimes a game comes out of the blue that completely flips you on your head. VVVVVV does this quite literally, with lots of lovely gravity-defying gaming at your fingertips. With great level design, clever puzzles and plenty of hidden extras to find, VVVVVV is one of the greatest indie games you'll play this year.
Whisper of a Rose Review
Credit where credit is due: Whisper of a Rose is nothing if not ambitious. Rose Portal Games' first casual role-playing game is a deep, sprawling fantasy experience set in multiple worlds filled with visually diverse environments. Unfortunately, it also suffers game-ending glitches, stale dialogue, and questionable interface and game design decisions. Still, there's a lot more good than bad in this atypical RPG.
