Time Mysteries: Inheritance Review
By Andy Chalk
With all the time-travel-related misadventures people have stumbled into over the years, you'd think that we would have learned by now to just leave it alone. But no, we keep going back, over and over again, throwing history into disarray as we trip through the time stream, leaving no end of calamities in our wake. Time Mysteries: Inheritance is kind of like that, repeating the same things that have been done dozens of times before in dozens of other games. Instead of a calamity, though, this one adds up to be a pretty decent game.Squawk Review
They say that history is written by the victors. In playing Squawk I can only imagine future generations will read about my phat parrot rolling skills, and how my ability to steer said parrot around sharks and into coins was unparalleled. Songs will be sung of the adventures my rotund parrot and I have undertaken, lifting the spirits of the downtrodden. Or, maybe since I'm just talking about a browser game I might be getting a little ahead of myself. Or am I?NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits Review
By Mike Rose
Originally released via WiiWare, Nyxquest: Kindred Spirits now has a PC/Mac version available, swapping the Wii Remote for a keyboard and mouse combination. While the control scheme has changed, not much else about this lovely platformer has been altered - which is good news for us as it's still great fun and, if you didn't play it the first time around, should definitely be on your radar now.The Island: Castaway Review
By Bryan Lufkin
From "Lord of the Flies" to "Survivor" to "LOST," it's no secret people stranded on deserted islands make for a good story. But it's a story that's been used in surprisingly few video games. Enter: The Island Castaway—it's an adventure/simulation casual game that puts you in a tribe of shipwreck victims. At first, they just want to survive, but they soon find themselves in the middle of a mystery that leads them to think they're not alone on the island.Ecco Jr. Review
Scientific fact: the only thing cuter than a dolphin is a baby dolphin. So Ecco Jr., a prequel to the classic Sega Genesis game Ecco the Dolphin, definitely scores some points when it comes to sheer adorable charm. But it's more than just the game's star that takes a step backwards, it's the actual gameplay as well. Ecco Jr. is much easier than its infamously difficult predecessor, so much so that it often feels as if there's no real challenge. It's also very short, clocking in at around an hour. So unless you're in the mood for a quick--and I do mean quick--bout of nostalgia, you may want to pass on Ecco's youthful adventures.Columbus: Ghost of the Mystery Stone Review
You probably know that Columbus discovered America while he was trying to find a trade route to the Indies, but what you don't know is that his ship crashed and he would've drowned were it not for the spirit of a woman trapped in stone. At least, that's the history according to hidden object game Columbus: Ghost of the Mystery Stone. Not quite what I remember from History class, but way more fun.The Fall Trilogy – Chapter 2: Reconstruction Review
At the end of the first chapter of The Fall Trilogy, we still knew next to nothing about what exactly was going on. There was a man who had lost his memory and had woken up in a strange ancient ruin. And the second chapter in the series, Reconstruction, doesn't make things any clearer. Instead it adds even more mystery to the experience. But while the game plays and looks just as great as its predecessor, the bland new setting and lack of any real answers makes it somewhat less enjoyable.Sour Patch Battle Karts Review
By Keith Andrew
Is it a little too obvious to say that, for all the sweetness and light in Sour Patch Battle Karts, there's something underlying play that gives it a slightly bitter after taste? Whether that's a cliché or not, this attempt to cash in on the cute and cuddly side of candy - in what can only be described as a fairly overt take on Mario Kart's battle stages - isn't quite the sugary affair it paints itself as. Indeed, it's actually a little drab.
