Punch Quest Review
By Eli Cymet
It could be argued that the endless runner genre needs a bit of a kick in the pants, replete as it is with familiar mechanics and predictable power-ups. Rocketcat Games and developer Madgarden have most definitely gotten the memo though, and they've decided instead to give it a punch in the face. A glorious, glorious punch in the face.Armed Heroes Review
By Nick Tylwalk
Say this for Armed Heroes (formerly known as Armed Heroes Online): It's not misleading you at all with its title. This freemium fantasy action MMORPG does contain heroes, and they are in fact armed. Chinese developer EGLS didn't provide it with a whole lot of originality, but it's a competent way to do some questing with or without other people helping you on your iOS device of choice.Ayakashi: Ghost Guild Review
By Nadia Oxford
Ayakashi: Ghost Guild is a card battling game that's heavily influenced by Japanese myth—in other words, it's not something you would have expected to see from publishing giant Zynga even a year ago. On one hand, it's good to see that Zynga is trying new things on top of (finally) getting serious about mobile games. On the other hand, Zynga needs to make a greater effort because Ayakashi is not very exciting.Botanica: Into the Unknown Review
By Matt Thrower
The humble mouse is arguably the most powerful and versatile computer input tool devised so far. So it's unsurprising, then, that an awful lot of games have been built around it and it alone as a control device. What's perhaps more surprising is that there hasn't been a greater crossover between the various genres of games reliant on the mouse. Enter Botanica: Into the Unknown.in Space Review
By Nick Tylwalk
Starting off a review with a rhetorical question might be a little passe, but here's one anyway: Can a game be unabashedly retro yet forward thinking at the same time? Actually that might not be rhetorical, because in Space by the one-man indie shop Ysty Games qualifies on both counts. It's a quirky space shooter that marries a minimalist aesthetic with challenging and potentially unlimited gameplay, pretty much taking less is more to a whole new plane.SpaceTanks Review
By David Oxford
SpaceTanks sounds like a cool enough idea, in theory: drive around in futuristic tanks and blow up the computer-controlled opposition, or take on your very own friends in galactic military combat. Unfortunately, I don't like having fun in theory.Bubble Galaxy With Buddies Review
By Leif Johnson
At this point, I think it's safe to assert that developers have ceased to make any meaningful stabs at innovation in the bubble popper genre; these days, achieving success involves little more than taking what works and refining it. The good news is that this approach appears to work spectacularly for Bubble Galaxies with Buddies. It pulls inspiration from Zynga's popular With Friends brand and meshes it together with the 60-second blitz template casual gamers have come to love. Let's just say the bubble on this market hasn't popped yet.Nancy Drew: The Deadly Device Review
By Brandy Shaul
In Her Interactive's 27th installment in the Nancy Drew franchise, we see our master sleuth investigating a cold case in the equally cold mountains of Colorado. Locked away in a Tesla-inspired laboratory are secrets surrounding the murder of a brilliant scientist, killed by a device with which Nancy must become incredibly familiar with along the way. The hunt for clues is on.
