Hallowed Legends: Ship of Bones Review
By Joe Jasko
When I first sat down to write this review, I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the game I had just played. But that's the kind of experience that Hallowed Legends: Ship of Bones turns out to be: a forgettable romp through familiar terrain. So much about this hidden object adventure is lost to its generic settings and gameplay that it leaves the whole package feeling more "hollowed" than "hallowed."The Gods: Rebellion Review
By Nadia Oxford
If our high school Greek Mythology classes have taught us anything, it's that gods are petty, jealous, easily bored, and will hop into bed with mortals at the drop of a hat. In the fantastic world that unfurls in The Gods: Rebellion, Eastern immortals are likewise not interested in staying out of humankind's affairs. In fact, one dark god has decided that it's high time for mortals to start building some wicked temples, and it's up to you to take on the mantle of a benevolent dragon god who wants to set things right.Dr. Jolt Review
By David Oxford
While the name might initially evoke thoughts of store-brand knock-off sodas, Dr. Jolt on iOS is a puzzle game (don't be fooled by the "adventure" part on the game's iTunes page) which features a clever premise, but a slightly-flawed execution.Gardenscapes 2 Review
By John Anthony
Austin returns to his childhood home only to find his parents haven't been keeping up their garden as diligently as they used to. So, he and his mustache (and you!) decide to spruce it up. All you need is a little cash, which is easy to obtain by selling some of his parent's things in a series of hidden object-style yard sales!Shadow Escaper Review
By Dant Rambo
Games release on the App Store all the time, and unfortunately not every single one merits a review. So what makes Shadow Escaper so special? Well, first and foremost, it was developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind the .hack series, quite a few Naruto games, and the unbelievably crazy Asura's Wrath. Secondly—and not unlike Asura's Wrath—its premise is downright insane. That insanity doesn't quite make up for all of the game's flaws, but I'll be darned if it doesn't come close.Gun Bros 2 Review
By Joe Jasko
It's been a while since we last saw the Gun Bros., but seasoned fans of the series will feel right at home here in this much-anticipated sequel. In Gun Bros. 2, Francis and Percy Gun return for another installment of all-out destruction with big guns and even bigger bad guys. But has the time away left these war-hardened F.R.A.G.G.E.D. vets a little soft on the inside? Come on. Is that even a question here?Worm Run Review
By Nadia Oxford
Oh, so your job sucks? Poor you. Does a giant worm chase you down whenever you want to grab a cup of coffee or use the washroom? No? Then you're already doing far better than Zeke, the hero of Worm Run for iOS. In his line of work, he runs a real risk of being eaten alive by a critter that looks like it'd be at home on Dune.Year Walk Review
By Eli Cymet
The crunch. Days after finishing Year Walk, it's the persistent, echoing crunch of snow that has stuck with me. It doesn't help that I live in perpetually blustery Ottawa, Ontario, where a boot print full of powder is never more than a couple steps outside your door during February. Now, however, I half expect the world to drop away between one stride and the next, the pedestrian-packed streets replaced with a harrowing wood filled with mystical creatures. A minute detail that has - much like the game it came from - wormed its way inside my brain and left a small, indelible mark. Like a footprint in the snow.
