QuizCross Review
By Rob Rich
Trivia is one of those kinds of games that just about anyone can enjoy. So long as they aren't terrible at remembering random facts, anyway. The problem with being a universally enjoyed game is that it can be difficult to capture any attention amidst the sea of titles on offer. This has a lot to do with why I'm so impressed with QuizCross; it changes up the formula quite effectively. What’s the Phrase Review
By Nadia Oxford
It's been about a year since Zynga bought OMGPop and Draw Something for $180 million, which means it's also been about a year since Draw Something's popularity deflated like a cheap balloon and left Zynga holding a rubbery corpse. 2012 proved to be a year of major reflection and restructuring for the social gaming giant, and its latest mobile title, What's The Phrase, presents a good opportunity for the company to demonstrate that it's learned some lessons. So are we witnessing the dawn of a sadder, wiser Zynga? Eh, well, maybe.Major Magnet Review
The new rotund and big-nosed hero in town probably can't fix your plumbing. Marrying gameplay elements from platformers both recent and classic, Major Magnet introduces a unique brand of traversal much more kinetic and demanding than touch controls can typically manage. Developer PagodaWest Games has built a vibrant and extensive game that remains engaging and varied. Already honored by App Store Editors and PAX East, is the Major a 2D mascot for the mobile generation?Grim Facade: The Cost of Jealousy Review
By John Anthony
Uh oh, a murder! And an explosion soon afterwards! Add to that a cheating husband, a jealous wife, and a scheming mistress and you've got the makings of a good old fashioned crime investigation. Grim Facade: Cost of Jealousy follows the same basic layout and style as the previous Grim Facade games, only now it sets its sights on the green-eyed monster that is jealousy.1001 Attempts Review
By Alex De Vore
You've really got to hand it to Spanish developer Cookiebit. This über-small team has only been creating games since the latter part of 2011, but with a knack for subtle simplicity and a unique bent on the greatest elements from gaming past, they've put together some of the most addictive mobile and tablet titles in recent memory—just check out the Tetris-esque Gravitron Block if you don't believe us—And now with the newly released iOS 8-bit spectacular, 1001 Attempts, the boys at Cookiebit are taking game addiction to a whole new level.King Cashing 2 Review
By Nick Tylwalk
Video game sequels can be tricky business, as the folks who made Duke Nukem Forever can explain ad nauseam. They're somewhat easier when the original game is good but not mind-blowing, which is why King Cashing 2 feels so fresh. The marriage between slots and RPG elements is intact, but Productions Multimage layered on more strategy and more zany fun to create an unusual but entertaining mobile experience.Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien Review
The BIT.TRIP series has brought gamers a lot of retro-inspired joy over the past four years. Although each title in the six-game BIT.TRIP collection (Beat, Core, Fate, Flux, Runner, and Void) features wildly varied gameplay mechanics—from Pong-like paddling to Gradius-esque shooting—they all share similar visual and musical aesthetics while abstractly telling the story of Commander Video. Runner2, the first direct sequel to a BIT.TRIP game, leaves the blocky Atari visuals behind but brings the challenge, charm, and superb gameplay of the series into the next generation.Penumbear Review

I'll be honest - I'm not a huge fan of platforming games on touch-screens. I find that the controls are never tight enough to feel truly at my beck and call, and the usual giant "buttons" plastered across the bottom of the screen take up far too much space - space that could be better used for, you know, the actual game.
