Battalion: Ghosts Review
Battalion Nemesisis a great real-time strategy game on the web, a title that was designed as a homage to the Advance Wars series of games that is also strong enough to stand on its own. The best part, though, was that it was only the first part of a trilogy of games UrbanSquall is working on. Now, we have the second chapter to the series: Battalion: Ghosts. Fans will be relieved to hear that it's not only as good as the first game, but it also has a number of upgrades incorporated into it.Habitat Rescue – Lion’s Pride Review
By Ryan Kuo
Habitat Rescue: Lion's Pride is a sim reminiscent of Virtual Villagers in that it gives you control over a group of roving characters—here, members of a lion tribe with a name of your choosing—to whom you delegate specific responsibilities. It sets off on the right foot, but ultimately proves to be an unsatisfying experience.Strimko Review
By David Stone
There have been a rash of great logic/puzzle games in the last few months, and Strimko, from newcomer Braintonik, is a worthy addition to that roster. Taking Sudoku in new directions makes for a fun - if uneven - experience.Extreme Sledding Review
Downhill sledding can be an exhilarating experience, if you like high speeds, snowy thrills, and chilly weather. But for those of us who prefer to avoid the cold and stay out of harm's way, digital snowbound mayhem will suffice as a warmer, safer substitute. Muse Games' Extreme Sledding certainly offers some virtual tree-lined slopes to haphazardly zip down on a rusty toboggan. Whether or not the game's small handful of levels will deliver anything more than a few fleeting moments of fun really depends on how bored you are.Diner Dash 5: BOOM! Review
By Alicia Ashby
Prior Diner Dash sequels were starting to walk down the path of feature bloat, offering distractions instead of real enhancements to the original game's customer service balancing act. Diner Dash 5: BOOM! effectively reboots the series, making it more player-friendly without sacrificing any of its basic appeal. Balancing a game out in this fashion is no small feat, making Diner Dash 5 feel as deep yet approachable as PopCap's Peggle.Wolfgang Hohlbein’s The Inquisitor Review
In The Inquisitor, an hidden object/adventure game hybrid based on the Wolfgang Hohlbein novel of the same name, you play as Tobias, a young monk sent to determine whether or not a young woman truly is a witch. You are understandably dismayed to discover that not only is she your ex-girlfriend (did they call it that back in the Middle Ages?), but also that the charges against her seem to be legitimate.Black Circle Review
There are many different reasons why people play point-and-click adventure games. Sometimes the story is engaging. Sometimes the visuals are beautiful. And sometimes it's just fun to explore the world that the game puts you in. But Black Circle: A Carol Reed Mystery succeeds in none of these aspects, instead offering up a completely uninteresting mystery that will leave you both scratching your head in confusion and yawning with boredom.Sarah Maribu and the Lost World Review
By Chad Sapieha
Sarah Maribu and the Lost World, a new hidden object game from ERS G-Studio, has a prologue that consists of a mere two sentences of text dialogue, but it's enough to set up the basic premise, which is that a young woman is headed to a forgotten atoll discovered by her grandfather that contains ancient mysteries and treasures. What follows is a competent, if unexceptional, HOG filled with lovely art, a relaxing score, and fairly average hidden object challenges and mini-games.
