Lume Review
At a time when next-gen video game visuals have reached a seemingly impassable peak, it's increasingly difficult to sell a game solely on graphics. Something extra special needs to be pulled off, with effects and ideas that are rarely explored, for a gaming experience to be essential based on the visual factor. Lume, a delightfully cute puzzler for PC and Mac, shows off some of the most interesting effects we've seen in a good while, with a world made entirely out of paper and cardboard, and real-life camera panning that cannot be beaten. Unfortunately, the gameplay cannot live up to its looks, with hopelessly obscure solutions and a rather abrupt playing time.Youda Farmer 3: Seasons Review
Just how often can the same village face different disasters in a rather short time? In Youda Farmer 3: Seasons you have to help the village and your farm for a third time, after a storm during a winter night destroys most of the houses and buildings. Proving to be as polished and unique as its predecessors, we absolutely recommend this game for people who enjoy wild clicking frenzies.
Secrets of the Dark: Temple of Night Review
Another day, another demon bent on turning the world into a churning pit of ash and fury, and luckily for all of us who prefer it the way it is, another hidden object hero(ine) who just happens to be sitting around at home with nothing to do when the call comes in to save the day. That's the setup in Secrets of the Dark: Temple of Night, a new, determinedly-decent game that drops players into the middle of supernatural shenanigans in a small Mexican town.
Memoir ’44 Online Review
Memoir '44 Online is the digital version of the super popular two-player board game from Days of Wonder. Between Ticket to Ride and Small World on the iPad to this latest title, Days of Wonder has made a serious push into the video space and I for one couldn't be happier. Unlike those other titles, though, Memoir '44 Online is a free download and while it won't play on your iPad it will play on your PC, Mac or Linux machine.
Gourmania 3: Zoo Zoom Review
The Gourmania series hasn't been without its faults through its previous two iterations, but Alawar is hoping that the third time's the charm with Gourmania 3: Zoo Zoom. This installment follows Victoria, the heir to a fortune who is shunned by her father (and cut off from her money) until she can learn the value of a hard day's work. With her family crest to guide her, she sets off to master the restaurant business in this continuation of the time management / hidden object series.
Hidato Adventures Review
At first glance you'd probably be inclined to think Hidato Adventures is a Sudoku game and either sit down or move on (depending on your current tolerance for Sudoku). But good news! This game has nothing at all do to with Sudoku, save for the fact that it's also a number puzzle. It's actually quite a refreshing puzzle game unlike anything else I've played.
Dreams of a Geisha Review
Dreams of a Geisha may on the outset appear to be just a beautifully-themed, but standard match-three title, but look deeper and you'll see a relaxing yet highly complex puzzler that offers four different gameplay modes and tons of extras within each. While not without faults, all of these elements combine to form a pretty enjoyable package in the end.
