It's perhaps bit trite to say, but if you had to sum up Smash Cars in one word it'd be "fun." If you wanted to add three more, try "while it lasts." Creat Studios' fast-paced RC car racer is brilliant, frantic fun and the simple line is if you like slightly wacked-out racing then Smash Carsis for you. However, it's worth bearing in mind that you're really not getting your bang for your buck considering the amount on offer; the quality is there, the quantity is not.
Nancy Drew: Alibi in Ashes is the 25th game in the Nancy Drew series of point-and-click mysteries from Her Interactive. It's an impressive milestone to reach, especially considering that the quality of games in the series has remained fairly consistent throughout. Alibi in Ashes shakes up the usual formula, not just by sending Nancy to a different location, but by actually placing her in jail for most of the game while her long-time friends - Bess, Ned, and George - do most of the sleuthing on her behalf.
The real don has finally arrived on Facebook, and he's brought the Five Families with him. Kabam offers a sitdown with the cosa nostra in TheGodfather: Five Families in hopes of making social gamers an offer they can't refuse.
I have never read H.P. Lovecraft's novel At the Mountains of Madness, but after playing through Mystery Stories: Mountains of Madness it has been added to my reading list. The setting of the story is Antarctica, 1931 and you will be playing as researcher Lynn Morgan and Professor William Dyer. When you arrive at the expedition site you make a gruesome discovery, the expedition team has been brutally murdered and one team member is missing. Who…or what…killed everyone? Was it the Elder Things of ancient myth or is it something even more sinister?
Stop me if you've heard this one before: A young woman inherits her family's old, mysterious mansion. Upon entering the mansion, you find that not everything is as it seems, and mysteries are ready to be uncovered. We could describe plenty of hidden object games in that exact fashion, and with Youda Mystery: The Stanwick Legacy, it's no different. Unfortunately, the gameplay here is a bit too unituitive, and the hidden object scenes a bit too repetitive to make this one an instant-purchase.
Mahjong Dimensions Deluxe: Tiles in Time takes the basic concept of the first Mahjong Dimensions and expands it into a game that will be a treat for PC mahjong fans. WhereMahjong Dimensions was basically Mahjong Blitz, Tiles in Time challenges you to run a gauntlet of mahjong patterns in order to "unlock" an object that's been lost in time. You begin searching for dinosaurs, then move on to other period-appropriate objects as you travel into eras like Ancient Egypt, Feudal Japan, and (eventually) the future.
Red Crow Mysteries: Legion is one of the strangest adventure games in recent memory, and not in a good way. This crazy quilt of well-worn puzzle concepts, tired mystery cliches and over-used notions regarding the battle between good and evil presents itself as a supernatural thriller but comes off as something unfinished and ill-conceived.
Templars! What is it with those guys, anyway? They're always getting up to no good. This time they're causing trouble for the good folks in a small town in southern France, including your brother and his wife, and they need your help to set things right! No points for originality in the setup, but Hallowed Legends: Templar manages to bring some exciting tricks to the table and be a lot of fun anyway.
