Ghost Recon Commander Review
Before diving in to Ghost Recon Commander, I was conflicted. On one hand, it had the right pedigree behind it. Not only was developer Loot Drop headed by industry veterans John Romero (you know, the guy that made that Doom game?) and Brenda Garno Brathwaite (Ravenwood Fair), but they were both massive fans of the series. On the other hand, it was Ghost Recon. How well could it work on Facebook? Spoiler alert: very.
Subway Surfers Review
Having never possessed the stamina required to complete a marathon, I feel a resentment of sorts towards endless runner games. How come the hero in Temple Run can run as far as he likes - skill of player permitting - and I can barely run two miles? And don't tell me exercise, because that clearly isn't what gives the characters of Subway Surfers an advantage. No, they have access to jetpacks and hoverboards. Not fair.
Air Mail Review
Air Mail for iOS is what Nintendo's Pilotwings series should be like. Younger game players may not remember this, but the original SNES installment of Pilotwings actually has a loose story that links all your flights through the wild blue yonder. That little infusion of narrative—which is missing from the newer Pilotwings games—gave you a sense of progression and purpose. Likewise, Air Mail's simple but compelling story really drives you forward in what's already an incredibly charming flight sim.

Com2uS certainly knows its way around mobile games, but how does the Korean company's skill at making tower defense titles translate to the world of Texas Hold 'Em? Not too badly, as it turns out. Com2uS Poker is a slickly designed free poker iOS app that makes it easy for players to hit the felt while on the go.

There is one thing that seems to be happening perpetually in the world of iOS gaming: towers are regularly under attack. Sadly with the consistent bombardment on virtual buildings, the genre of tower defense is easily overwhelmed as gamers try to fight off terrible titles.
Bubble Blitz Review
Facebook is not hurting for bubble-popping games. Whenever you have the urge to sink your face against your fist while you pop the digital equivalent of bubble wrap, oh boy, does Facebook ever have you covered. It's hard to be impressed by any sort of shiny bauble-clearing game anymore, really, but Bubble Blitz by PlayQ may actually make you feel joy in your cynical heart. It's a fast-paced and addictive game with a surprisingly great soundtrack.
Men in Black 3 Review
You have to hand it to Gameloft--they could have produced yet another uninspired movie tie-in, but with Men in Black 3, they delivered an amazing experience in resource management and turn-based combat. In fact, based on early reports, you'll probably get more enjoyment out of it than the movie itself, and that's something that few tie-ins can claim.
Zombie Ace Review
I'm comfortable saying that "endless runner" is a bonafide genre now. Canabalt was really the first one to break out; it hit the ground running (terrible pun review quota filled) and never looked back. While the setup is different from title to title, the point is always the same: travel as far as possible. There's no beating the game per se, just go as far as you can without failing. Zombie Ace has the same great trappings, but adds some much-needed complexity to the proceedings.
