iOOTP Baseball 2012 Edition Review
By Nick Tylwalk
I don't know how to code apps, but my guess is that it's not too easy to pack a full-featured baseball simulation into 130 MB. Somehow, iOOTP 2012 Edition manages to pull it off, compiling all the stats and options necessary to play the (American) national pastime the way you want to play it on your iOS device. Armchair general managers of the world, this one's for you.The Amazing Spider-Man Review
The Spider-Man game franchise, despite having a few hiccups in recent years, is a prestigious one to tackle. Not only are you dealing with one of the world's most popular super heroes, but you're also tasked with the huge undertaking of creating gameplay that makes you feel like you are the web-slinging wallcrawler himself.Unstoppable Fist Review
By Eli Cymet
Game tutorials can be boring. Ham-fisted, slowed down exercises in patience where're you're taught things you already know in ways that almost put you to sleep. So when I booted up Unstoppable Fist and was told, "Each side is divided into three touch zones. Destroy the Mionions of Darkness with quick reflexes and a mullet," I knew I was in for something special.Chasing Yello Review
By Eli Cymet
I remember owning my first goldfish. I named him Zack, after one of the Power Rangers (naturally). He was my parents' way of teaching me the responsibility of caring for something on a daily basis, and helping me cope with the idea of loss. Oh, how we'd play. Me, running alongside the river bank chasing Zack. Him, diving in and out of the water, avoiding piranhas, ducking under burning logs. Pop Quiz: one half of this paragraph is about the game Chasing Yello.Vampire Season Review
By Dant Rambo
When I wrote the preview of Vampire Season for iOS, I felt a good deal of excitement about the game's pending arrival. I love horror, and the idea of taking control of character archetypes from the genre was a pretty exciting concept to me. The stakes were high (pun intended), and I'm happy to say the game delivered on most accounts. Pun also intended.Dead Trigger Review
By Eli Cymet
I find myself in an odd predicament with Madifnger games. One one hand, they inarguably produce some of the best visuals I've ever seen on iOS. Their work easily matches (if not surpasses) benchmarks like Infinity Blade, and blurs the line between console and handheld. And yet, after playing their generic shooter Shadowgun, and now their newest visual feast Dead Trigger, I feel they might have the same problem your zombie hunting protagonist does: lifelessness.Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 Review
By Dant Rambo
It wasn't so long ago that the folks at Penny Arcade announced they wouldn't be pursuing a third game in the Adventures series, due to lackluster sales and then-developer Hothead Games being occupied with working on DeathSpank. But life found a way, and here we are with Episode 3. It may seem like quite the departure at first, but it maintains all of what made the first two games so great.Matching With Friends Review
By Bryan Lufkin
They're back. The king of social gaming's bringing us another "…with Friends" title, and assuming you have lots of friends, Zynga's latest is sure to keep you even more glued to your iPhone than you already are. You'll also, y'know, help Zynga take over the world.
