Awakening: The Skyward Castle Review
By Brandy Shaul
The last time we saw Princess Sophia, our heroine had traveled to the Goblin Kingdom via the Awakening installment of the same name, continuing in her dangerous search for her people. After helping the Goblin people reunite with their true king, Sophia was left to make her way to the Skyward Castle, where humans ultimately fled. In this fourth installment in the series, Awakening: The Skyward Castle, we'll finally come face to face with the humans Sophia has so desperately longed to find, and will head into battle against menacing shadows that wish to stop Sophia in her tracks.Dwarf Quest Review
Dwarf Quest is a lot of fun. It's a fine example of why independent game development is a good thing for us gamers. Dwarf Quest takes a tired genre and does something new with it. I've never played a game that works quite like it before. Unique equals good in my book. Unfortunately, a unique idea is not always enough to make a game.Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Review
By Dant Rambo
The first version of Counter-Strike was released over 13 years ago. A fan-made mod for Half-Life, neither Valve nor the creators themselves had any clue the kind of juggernaut they had on their hands. Today, it remains one of the most popular online shooters on the market. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the latest in a series of revamps, and while it's home to much of the same content as previous iterations, it's got some pretty nifty bells and whistles affixed, too.Dream Builder: Amusement Park Review
By Brandy Shaul
Fans of Rollercoaster Tycoon and Theme Park have been clamoring for a new amusement park simulation game for years, and when Fugazo announced Dream Builder: Amusement Park, it almost seemed like this colorful take on the genre could be just the thing to fill the virtual park-going void. Unfortunately, Dream Builder: Amusement Park is too basic and linear to be an instant classic. With that said, this ride is not without its casual entertainment value. For those clamoring to get back in the gates of a sim like this, it may even be worth the price of admission. The Curse Review
By David Oxford
Let's get one thing out of the way up-front: The Curse is a good game. That said, The Curse is also a game which could potentially make you angrier than any other game on the iPhone.Wooden Sen’SeY Review
By Mike Rose
If you've followed the indie game scene for a while, you'll no doubt feel that indie platformers are somewhat coming to a head. Every now and again a clever concept that hasn't previously been fully explored will emerge, but for the most part, they all seem to tread the same ground, with familiar features and the same silly problems.Toybox Review
By Eli Cymet
Whether in Triple Town, 10000000, or Puzzle Forge, the match-3 game has been put through its paces lately in mashups with other genres. With Toybox, developer Barrel of Donkeys tries to take things a step further, delivering two styles of play at once. And like the made-up, hybrid games of an imaginative child, the result is at once lovely and inconsistent.SlotSpot Review
By Nick Tylwalk
Except for "Call Me Maybe" parody videos, few things have been as ubiquitous this summer as social and mobile slots games. You've got to stand out if you want to play in this space, and Blitzoo's SlotSpot does it, obviously, with a rhyming name. Oh, and its lively gameplay, wide variety of bonus games and tournament options probably don't hurt, either.
