Square Enix joins the cloud gaming race with Core Online
By Dant Rambo
Square Enix happens to know you like video games. Don't ask how they obtained such juicy info - they just did. The bright side is that they're using this newfound knowledge for good, and launching a service that lets you play a selection of their games via browser. Called Core Online, it soft-launched earlier today with Mini Ninjas and Hitman: Blood Money in tow. And worry not, awesome people: More games are on the way.Edmund McMillen Interview, Part 3: Kickstarter
By Dant Rambo
Welcome to part three of our five-part interview series with Team Meat's Edmund McMillen. Yesterday we discussed the games industry at large, and today we'll be covering a fairly prominent subset of that: Kickstarter. It's become a reliable source of funding for both indie developers and established studios, but does it make sense for everyone?Replay Wednesdays: Eufloria, Gamebook Adventures and more!
By Jim Squires
We cover plenty of new games here at Gamezebo every week, but the number of games we've already covered that show up on new platforms? It's staggering. This Wednesday and every Wednesday, Gamezebo is rounding up the games that aren't quite new, but might be new to you depending on your platform of choice. And who doesn't love new(ish) games?Indie Royale promotes fleeing town with The Getaway Bundle
By Dant Rambo
While it's usually video games we cover here at Gamezebo, I wanted to take a quick break and discuss another subject: Bundles of video games. Like a well-tended vegetable garden, they've been cropping up left and right, allotting you the opportunity to pay what you want in exchange for a handful of awesome games. The Getaway Bundle from Indie Royale is the latest one, and while indie games remain the biggest draw, you also have a chance to win a meteorite. Like from space.Edmund McMillen Interview, Part 2: The Games Industry
By Dant Rambo
Greetings, and welcome to part two of our five-part interview with the one and only Edmund McMillen. Yesterday's entry was all about upcoming title The Basement Collection, a compilation of some of McMillen's work before Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac. Today, we tackle a broader subject: The current state of the gaming industry.Edmund McMillen Interview, Part 1: The Basement Collection
By Dant Rambo
You may know him best for Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac, but Edmund McMillen has been making games for quite a while. He'll be compiling much of his earlier work in The Basement Collection, a release that's bursting at the seams with extra content and hidden goodies. To learn more about the content-rich release (and so many other topics), we met up with him at his Santa Cruz residence and had a lengthy conversation.Free-to-play headed to Xbox 360 with Happy Wars
By Eli Cymet
In the world of video games, free-to-play has fast emerged as a juggernaut. The majority of the top twenty grossing iOS titles, for example, don't have any price of admission to start. Over 70% of revenue in mobile comes from in-app payments within zero dollar games. It's quickly becoming the train you either get on, or from which you get out of the way. Microsoft, it seems, is hopping aboard.Indies Invade! sale at GOG.com
By Jim Squires
If you haven't been to GOG.com in a while, you might be in for a bit of a surprise. A few months back the service changed its focus a little. While before they were all about good old games, now they're really just about good games - regardless of new or old.
