With a brand new year of (hopefully) great games kicking off tomorrow, we thought we'd end 2012 with a bang. Sure we've spent all of December looking at the best games of 2012 in their respective categories, but what about the very best? What about the games that rise above genre and platform to be counted among the elite? Which one game managed to earn the coveted title of Gamezebo's Game of the Year?
Games of the Month – December 2012
The holidays are always the best time of year for video games. There are tons of releases, and excess downtime to spend playing them. Personally, I managed to make my way through a pretty decent chunk of my backlog, and even check out some games I wouldn't have had time for otherwise. I hope you had a similar fortune, as quite a few great games launched this month.

Best PC Games of 2012
We're in the midst of the longest console generation ever. While that in itself is kind of a bummer (new tech lust is a real thing), it hasn't had any sort of ill effects on the PC market. The progression of technology is a little more fluid there, which means there's almost never any sort of gap where at least some interesting PC games aren't getting released. 2012 turned out to be a banner year for the platform, with notable releases of both the major and indie variety arriving on a regular basis.

What's more interesting and involving in the creation of a story than coming up with colorful, interesting, and unique characters? This is one of the tasks I have as the writer of the Aldorlea games. Characters are crucial in a story - and an RPG. Good RPGs have a good story. A good story requires great characters, characters that people can feel something for and sometimes relate to. It can be bad ("Oh, I hate this stupid selfish character!") or it can be good ("this heroine is wonderful and so full of heart, she lifts me up all the time!") but it has to do something.
