How Games Can Solve Biden’s Quest to Reduce Gun Violence
Over the holidays I received a curious email from the Office of the Vice President requesting concrete proposals to reduce gun violence. In the middle of my heated response I stopped typing. Most of what I was saying had been said before. "There has to be a better way," I thought as I set down my iPhone to go for a second helping of my sister's amazing pear tart. Knowing Biden would receive hundreds of emails similar to my own, I thought perhaps asking my network to come up with creative ways games can help. I believe that games can deliver public services. Instead of being seen as part of the problem, why not ask game makers how games can be part of the solution?Indiegogo Picks: Crystal Kingdom
By Andy Chalk
Although obviously inspired by the classic, 16-bit JRPGs of decades past, Crystal Kingdom will be a brand-new and completely unique game. No wonder they named a game after him.Eden Industries’ “Garden of Indie” initiative seeks to help out indie developers
By Dant Rambo
Being an indie developer can be a very liberating experience. You can make the games you want to make, and aren't forced to explain every single design choice to a publisher or other such entity. The flipside of that, though, is that it can also be extremely difficult. Eden Industries knows this, and that's why they've launched the "Garden of Indie" initiative.Big Fish brings cloud-gaming service to Microsoft’s Windows 8 Platform

Despite the seemingly never-ending supply of themes that appear in gaming these days, many genres have become quite comfortable in their tropes, following the lead of successful entries to a tired fault. Although there are exceptions—and surprisingly novel games—in every category, these genres in particular have become stagnate, with original games becoming rarer and hope for change becoming greater every day.Replay Wednesdays: Wordox, Word U and more!
