Double Fine releases physical box set of Amnesia Fortnight prototypes
In November of last year Double Fine funded an internal game jam by allowing people to pay whatever they wanted for access to the prototypes that came out of it. Those who pitched in were also provided a few bonus prototypes, as well as the chance to vote on which ideas they wanted Double Fine to pursue in the jam. All in all, it was a pretty awesome deal. And just when you thought they couldn't sweeten the pot any further, Double Fine went and released everything in a physical box set. Those rapscallions.

Living room gaming will no doubt change quite a bit over the next few years. Sony and Microsoft will release their new consoles, sure, but they'll be up against a whole new cast of competitors, such as Android-based consoles like the OUYA and the forthcoming third- and first-party Steam Boxes. And while Microsoft and Sony are surely quivering in their boots at the potential of the Steam Box, the feeling isn't necessary mutual: as far as Valve co-founder Gabe Newell is concerned, the real threat here is Apple.
