Sometime yesterday (June 18th), players noticed that the Sell NPC, Steven, in the central plaza stopped offering his Bargain service. Now, we’re left wondering what happened to Bargain in Grow a Garden 2? After some searching, I have an answer! So, let me explain…
Bargain became bugged and has been temporarily disabled.
At least, that’s the short version. I found this answer via the official Grow a Garden 2 Discord server, where both players and mods have reported this unfortunate shortcoming.
As soon as it’s fixed, it’ll become enabled again. This could happen sometime today, tomorrow, or even a few days from now in the worst-case scenario. If you frequently enjoy Bargaining with Steven, I recommend holding onto your valuable crops that you’d want to upsell until the feature works again.

Take this part with a grain of salt, but if I had to guess, it may work tomorrow. GaG2 is planning an update today, which may deliver quality of life updates, new features, and maybe a fixed bargain. Track the UPD for your timezone via Roblox.
Speaking to Steven still shows the Bargain button. Pressing this and attempting to bargain will result in refusal, with Steven claiming he cannot bid right now. Fortunately, even though it costs Sheckles to select your Bargain, you don’t lose any money.
Choosing to bargain with Steven is a gamble. You invest some sheckles to get new deals and prices on your held crops, with Steven offering you more or less sheckles for your produce. This means you could spend more than you gain, dropping the crop value, or make a small fortune off a crop that you’d sell for way less at the base price. It all comes down to chance and luck, and is a feature exclusive to GaG2 that players really enjoy.

Nope, Steven will not take any cash from you during the Bargain downtime. Any attempts to bargain will result in refusal.
