Struggling to progress past the riddle? In a game reliant on combat and stats, it’s almost funny how many players reach this part and get stumped, myself included. But worry no more, as I tell you the answer to the What Gets Bigger The More You Take Away From It VV ULTIMATUM Riddle.
Let’s cut to the chase.
Riddle Answer: Ambition
The Riddle happens around Level 50 for Shinigami players following the main storyline. In short, it’s one of the few Riddles you’ll face when progressing to unlock your Shikai.
I’ll explain in more detail below, but if you don’t care for yapping, Shikai attainment boils down to EXP from combat and meditation in a rinse-and-repeat loop.
At level 25, you’ll finally find success with meditation. Attempting before this will result in your character falling asleep. If you have enough EXP, you’ll trigger a green aura around your body with a chime sound cue, and the screen will dim. The more you meditate, the quicker you progress through these upcoming stages.
When inside your innate world, you’ll need to follow the blue orbs to each shrine and interact with it. As a taster for what’s to come, one poses a riddle, asking “what is always in front of you but can’t be seen“, where the answer is the Future.
Teleport into the inner world for the bell minigame: follow the blue circles until you reach the bell, then interact with it. The final bell spawns enemies to defeat before you re-enter the main world.
Defeat a boss and teleport back into your innate Bell World to visit more shrines by following the blue orbs.
At this point, you’ll progress quickly through the main story until you unlock your Shikai. A lot of challenges are self-explanatory and require combat EXP, meditation, or both. Once you attain your Shikai, you’ll also receive three free rerolls.
If at any point you feel stuck, keep completing missions until Kuchiki speaks to you. This happens anywhere between level 50 and 70, where you gain new main storyline quests.
