As you patrol the school, your nameplate casually addresses your status and rank to other students. To understand what I mean, stick around for my guide telling you what each Gakuran Nameplate Colour means. Here, I explain this simple mechanic so you can immerse yourself further into this slice-of-life simulator, with a sprinkle of combat.

Let’s get into it.

What Each Gakuran Nameplate Color Means

Your nameplate hangs proudly on your chest, fixed to your school uniform. It displays your surname in Kanji or Katakana and a colored box showing your year and grade.

Currently, there are three grades to progress through:

  • First Year: Blue
  • Second Year: Purple
  • Third Year: Yellow

How To Get A New Grade

When you create a character for the first time, you’ll automatically receive an assigned Grade. This does not affect your overall gameplay or statistics and is purely a cosmetic feature.

If you begin as a First Year student, you won’t automatically progress through to Second and Third Year, no matter how long you stay in one session. You also cannot reroll your Grade/Age to get a different nameplate color.
