Verse Piece Fishing – How to Unlock and All Upgrades

To obtain fish in Verse Piece, you need to go fishing!

How to Unlock Fishing

Whilst a Fishing Rod exists in the game, it has nothing to do with actual fishing. Instead, you use it to unlock the Gon Spec and acquire the Master of Swap item.

1. Go to Starter Island and search for the Fishhook Seller (they stand at a stall with red and white stripes – when facing the docks, head to the right)
2. Purchase the Fishhook for 5K in-game coins, 50 Iron, and 25 Wood
3. Once you have the Fishhook, you can stand inside any of the circles nearby to the stall to begin fishing

Upgrading Your Fishhook

The next thing to focus on is upgrading your fishhook. This makes fishing easier and more rewarding overall! Once you have the resources, you can purchase a Golden Fishhook from the Fishhook Seller – the method is the same as above when you first acquired the standard Fishhook.

To purchase the Golden Fishhook from the Fishhok Seller on Starter Island, you need:

• 100K in-game coins
• 100 Wood
• 100 Fish
• 250 Iron
• 50 Gold
• Unlock the Fisherman trait (Legendary rarity)
  • Your rewards increase when you have this trait!
  • To get this trait, visit the Traits Reroll NPC

Fishhook Upgrader NPC

After purchasing the Golden Fishhook, you can speak with the Fishhook Upgrader for further improvements. They stand nearby to the stall, to the right of the fishing circles! Give this NPC 5, 15, or 25 fish to upgrade your Fishhook.

Bait

Head to Runes Island to find the Bait Seller NPC standing by the water. They have a little fish icon above their head, so you can easily spot them! Speak with them to open a new window, which includes different types of bait, such as:

• Enhance Bait
  • Requirements:
    • 2.5K in-game coins
    • 10 Enhance Stones
    • 100 Fish
  • Limitbreak Bait
    • Requirements:
      • 7.5K in-game coins
      • 1 Limitbreak Stone
      • 250 Fish
  • Golden Bait
    • Requirements:
      • 1K in-game coins
      • 25 Fish
