Game Introduction – Vacation Quest: Australia

In Vacation Quest: Australia, the sequel to Vacation Quest: The Hawaiian Islands, it’s time for a new vacation adventure down under. Locate over 2,200 hidden objects in 28 beautiful scenes. Enjoy seven different mini games from word searches to find the difference puzzles to increase your score. Gamezebo’s walkthrough will provide you with step by step instructions with detailed images, tips, information, and hints on how to play your best game.

Getting Started

• Click on the “Play Now” button at the top of the page to purchase the game for the PC or Mac.

• You will be prompted to give your user name and choose your game icon from the three given which is a hat, a boomerang and a Koala bear.

• Options – Click on the options button in the main men to adjust your music and sound effect volume, play in full screen or windowed mode, and to choose unlimited hints.

Game Elements

• Hidden Boomerangs – There are three boomerangs hidden in each hidden object scene in the game. There are over 80 boomerangs available to locate in the 28 scenes. You must locate a minimum of 50 boomerangs to unlock the two bonus game modes which are, “Seek and Find Bonus” and “Match 3 Bonus”
• Be sure to look at the top of the screen as it will show a boomerang in an indicator section each time you find one. Important – If you exit a location without finding all three boomerangs you cannot return to the location to find it so be sure to locate the boomerangs first when you enter a new hidden object scene. Note – All boomerangs will be shown circled in red in the walkthrough.
• Seek and find bonus mode – This mode allows you to play the hidden object scenes over again with possible different items for you to find with each new game you play.
• Match 3 bonus mode – This mode allows you to play the match 3 mini game for as long as you choose.
• Items that act upon other items – While in the hidden object scenes you will frequently have to find items that you will click on and bring them to other items to act upon them. For example you may be asked to “Slice the tomato” When you see this you will look for the item to slice it with as well as the tomato. Once you find the knife click on it and it will stick to your cursor. Bring it to the tomato and click on it again to complete the action. There will be many types of tasks of this nature. If you get stuck you can use the hint button or this guide for help. (These items will be seen circled in dark pink in the walkthrough)
• Item descriptions – Sometimes instead of outright stating the name of an object you may see a description of an item. This can sometimes be confusing as there can be more than one possible answer. Use the hint button for help or look for the answer in this walkthough. (Note – These items will be shown circled in yellow in the walkthrough.)

Scoring

• Finding a hidden object – + 5,000 points.
• Finding back to back matches – +2,500 points (multiplier)
• Perfect search – (No Hints used) – + 25,000 points
• Time Remaining – + 50 points per second remaining
• Hidden Boomerangs found – + 10,000 points
• All Boomerangs found – +100,000 points
• Hint Penalty – Minus 7,500 points per hint used
• Random clicking penalty – Minus 2,500 points
• Skip mini game puzzle penalty – Minus 10,000 points.

General Tips

• You have the ability to set the game to “Unlimited hints” in the options area located on the main menu. Simply check the box and save to enter this mode.
• How to use hints – If you need to use a hint simply click on the hint button at the bottom center of the game screen. You will then see one item in the list below highlight with a sparkling effect. This effect is very short so be sure you don’t miss it.

• This is the walkthrough for the game from start to finish in vacation mode. Answers are shown in the images provided and solutions are shown for mini games when and where applicable.
• Note that some puzzles may have different solutions from what is shown here due to the nature of the puzzle.
• Detailed instructions will be provided for each step of the game.
• The game is divided into days for a 28 day vacation. If you complete the requirements of the 28 scenes you will unlock an additional week of your vacation which is also shown here.

Mini Game – Match 3 Puzzle

• In this mini game the objective is to match three or more items in the grid.
• Click on one item and highlight it, then click on another adjacent to it and they will switch places.
• Each time a match is made the tile behind the object will turn brown.
• Your objective is to play until the entire board has been changed to the color brown.
• Example of solution shown above.

Mini Game – Remove Pairs Puzzle

• In this puzzle you are to click on the tiles that are the same to remove them from the puzzle. You can only remove them if they are on the top level and have nothing above both of them.
• You will have to strategically remove the pairs so that all of them will be off of the board.
• If you can not pick them up in this order the game will notify you and start the puzzle over.
• You can skip this puzzle if you want but it will give you a 10,000 point deduction penalty.

Mini Game – Match 3

• Here you have another match 3 game where you will match at least 3 of the items in the grid by clicking on one item then another to trade places with it. Any matches made over the blue grid will turn it brown.
• Your goal is to play until you turn the entire grid brown.
• You will earn points for large chain matches that are either vertical or horizontal.
