Ultimate Disc is a hypercasual frisbee game that’s currently racing up the charts on the App Store. There’s a lot to love about the game, from its simple presentation to its quick-fire gameplay. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t tips and tricks that can help you to enjoy it more.

We’ve put some time into the game, and we reckon we’ve found some hints that are going to really upgrade your Ultimate Disc play. This guide is for anyone, from people who’ve yet to pick up the digital frisbee to more advanced players who are ready to take their game to the next level.

Got your own tricks that you’d like to share? Then make sure you do that in the comments section at the bottom of the article.

Take Your Time

When the opposition team is moving, it’s a good idea to take a moment to see where those movements take them. Quite often you’ll throw early, only for a defender to nip across and grab the frisbee. That’s something you can easily overcome if you wait a while and check out the patterns of the opposing side.

There are no time constraints on your throws, so you’re not going to be penalised for taking an extra couple of seconds. In fact, sometimes you’re going to have to wait for a gap – often there isn’t an obvious throw to make until the other team has started to move.

Feel The Fire

You might have noticed that when you throw close to an enemy, a comment pops up next to them and you get a little vibration. That’s because near misses and close shaves add to your fire meter. What you might not have seen is what happens when that meter is full – it gives you a free throw.

Or, in other words, it lets you skip over one throw. There are times when this can be really useful, and other times when skirting that close to danger is going to leave you in more trouble than it’s worth. Don’t chase the free throws, but when you can fill up that meter easily, you should always try.

Skirt The Edges

While it might look like there’s a boundary to the play area in the form of a white line, that’s not actually the case. You can throw the disc outside of that white line and still complete the catch. Sometimes it’s the best plan to avoid the defenders completely and make the easiest throw possible.

That’s where skirting the edges comes in. When you’re having trouble finding a path for the disc, you can often just curve it around everything. There are levels where that’s not possible, with defenders standing outside of the marked area, so you’ll still need to pay attention to what’s happening before you throw.
