Type Soul Horizon Essence – Horizon Core Guide

Using the Type Soul Horizon Essence, or Horizon Core, unlocks a new ability to wield in battle! But what’s the difference between using it with or without True Pierce?

Type Soul Horizon Essence

The Horizon Essence is also called the Horizon Core. This unlocks the ability, ‘Flashing Lights’, which excels in power if used with True Piece, and even more so within a combo attack.

The requirement to use this Essence is 45 Kendo, so make sure to invest 45 points into this skill tree! Horizon is classed as ‘Universal’, which means it’s not tied to a specific race.

Flashing Lights

Create blue embers as you dash forward with speed. If you proc True Pierce, a quick cutscene begins. To proc True Pierce, you must perform the Vertical Down or Split Gate Kendo skill tree moves.

If you do not activate True Pierce before hitting your opponent results in them being ragdolled, whilst taking some damage.

True Pierce

If you’re quick enough, you can attack the enemy with Vert or Split Gate straight after your hit to get another chance to proc True Pierce. To activate 2 True Pierces within a single combo attack, you can hit with Vertical Down, then Split Gate, followed by using Horizon Essence.

As mentioned above, a cutscene plays when you manage to proc True Pierce. This turns the screen red as a horizontal and vertical line appears in black, as well as the silhouettes of your avatar and your opponent’s avatar. True Pierce combined with Horizon Essence, causes Flashing Lights to deal much more damage in total.

How to Get Horizon Essence

With Type Soul being all about PvP, it comes as no surprise that you need to battle against other players to get the best rewards.

Winning Ranked matches grants you a chance to obtain any type of Essence, and the same goes for Soul Wars, King of the World, and Culling Games. If you die in any of these battles, you will not get an Essence. Consume a Blue Pill if you wish to remove your Essences!
