Where are the husks?
Trying to unlock the Type Soul Ancient Vasto for your Arrancar? The process doesn’t take too long, but you do need to meet some requirements beforehand in Type Soul! You must have your True Mode unlocked for your Vastocar, though. If you follow our True Bankai Requirements guide, the steps are the same.
A new Arrancar variant.
Before you start the questline, you need to make sure your character is a True Vastocar, and you must have True Sugunda.
To start the obtainment method of Ancient Vasto, you first need to visit Ring 1 of Hell. You must find the NPC called ‘Past’, who sits on a throne in a cave at the top of a mountain. You’re in the right cave if you see glowing chains.
Speak with Past to unlock the first part of the quest. He talks about wanting to break the chains, as he feels like a prisoner. He then describes himself as a husk and explains how there are three of them in total, but they are all separated. Your task is to find the other husks! If you manage to find them, Past promises to grant you power.
Next, head to Ring 3 in Hell, specifically towards the maze that you completed just before unlocking the Library. While wandering around the maze, make sure to look out for an NPC that looks similar to ‘Past’ – this is ‘Present’. After speaking with him, it’s time to find the next NPC.
For this NPC, you must go to the Library (also within Ring 3). You can do this by using the Library Gate Special Item in your inventory, but you can also get there via the maze. Make your way to the spiral staircase in the Library and climb to the top. On this floor, look across the wall to find an NPC who looks like Past attached to the wall, surrounded by crystals. This is ‘Future’. Speak with him to move on with the quest!

After collecting these items, you must then go back to the Future NPC in the Library to give them to him. Once you do this, you then unlock Ancient Vasto!
