Type Run combines two genres to make something pretty cool. On the one hand it’s a super simple word game. On the other it’s a race. It’s a simple enough idea, but that doesn’t mean finishing its challenges is a doddle.
Not to worry though, because that’s where this guide comes in. We’ve played a lot of Type Run and discovered all the hints, tips and tricks you’re going to need to make sure you’re crossing the finish line first.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but the game fills in special characters for you. You don’t need to worry about punctuation marks or anything like that. Dollar signs and the like are taken care of as well.
It can throw you off a little bit, but keep an eye on the sentences you’re meant to be typing to see where your cursor is and you’ll find it becomes second nature.
Numbers, on the other hand, are a different matter. You need to type them when they pop up. If you’ve got a keyboard that can have the numbers across the top then it’s a good idea to use it.
If not, take your time when it comes to the numbers. It’s easy to get stuck if you’re swapping between keyboard screens, so be careful and catch back up when you’re typing letters again.
It’s important to keep your combo going, because it gives you Jokers. These let you make mistakes without taking a hit. You can stack up to three of them if you play well enough.
Find the typing speed that keeps you ahead of the pack but lets you make the fewest mistakes. And don’t panic when you do make a mistake, you’ll often find that leads to more mistakes.
