Touch Pets Dogs 2 – Game Introduction

Touch Pets Dogs 2 is an iPhone game developed by ngmoco that lets you take care of your very own virtual puppy. Gamezebo’s Touch Pets Dogs 2 strategy guide and walkthrough will provide you with a quick start guide, tips and tricks, hints and cheats on how to win.

Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

Touch Pets Dogs 2
  • Touch Pets Dogs 2 can be downloaded from the App Store for free using the link at the top of this guide. It’s available for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
  • In order to play you’ll need to sign up for a Plus+ account, which is an online social network that allows you connect with friends while playing games. It doesn’t cost anything to sign up, and if you’ve played any of the previous Touch Pets games you’ll already have a user name and password.
  • After signing up you’ll be asked whether or not you want to receive push notifications. These reminders will buzz your phone whenever something important happens. These reminders are pretty frequent though, so you may want to select no if you don’t want your device constantly alerting you. The push notification settings can also be changed from the options menu.

  • Now comes the fun part: picking a puppy! You can pick one dog to begin with and there are three different isles of dogs to choose from. Each dog has its own personality and there are several breeds to choose from, including German Shepherds, White Terriers, and Labradors. Once you pick a dog it’s time to take them back home.

Caring For Your Puppy

Touch Pets Dogs 2
  • The main goal in Touch Pets Dogs 2 is to keep your new canine companion happy. If you tap on the dog a menu will pop up, which shows all of its various needs represented by a meter. The higher the meter, the happier the dog. Needs are divided into three different categories: care, play, and social.
  • To satisfy the “food” need, you simply need to go into your inventory and select the food bowl from the care section. The bowl will plop on the ground and if your puppy is hungry they’ll start eating. The same goes for the “water” need, where you’ll have to select the water bowl from the care menu. The dog will stop eating or drinking once the meter has reached 100 percent.
  • The “petting” need requires you to use your finger to virtually pet your dog. To completely satisfy this need you’ll need to continue to pet the dog until a “petting 100 percent” pop-up appears.

  • Every once in a while you’re dog will also need to be let out. To do this you’ll need to open the back door of your home by swiping it. This will take you to the backyard. And if your dog needs to go, they’ll go. There are clean up bags located in the care menu to get rid of the mess. Simply touch the mess with the bag, and then drag the bag back to the menu.
  • “Grooming” your dog can be done in a number of ways. There are several brushes in the care menu that you can use to make your pup look more presentable. You can also use shampoo to help clean the dog up. Which ever way you choose, all you need to do is rub the item all over the dog to use it. As with “petting,” you’ll know you’re done when a pop-up appears telling you that “grooming” is now 100 percent satisfied.

Playing With Your Puppy

  • The second way to keep your puppy happy is by playing with it. This category is divided into five different needs: chasing, agility, catching, collecting, and fetching. These will require you to use the various toys located in your inventory.
  • There are a few different ways to go about satisfying the “chasing” need. Throwing a ball or other toy will cause your dog to run after it, but you’ll need to do this many times to fill up the bar. Much more effective are the remote controlled toys, like the flying plane or the running turtle. You control these by tilting your device from side to side, and back and forth. As the little toy speeds about your puppy will chase after it.
  • “Agility,” meanwhile, can only be satisfied by playing with special agility balls. You’ll start out with one in your menu (the pink and green one) but additional ones can be purchased as well. Similarly, “catching” can only be satisfied by playing with flying toys like frisbees.

  • The “collecting” need is where money comes in. You can have your dog search each piece of furniture you have in your home, from the couch to a lamp. After a pre-determined amount of time, this will result in the dog finding coins for you. Luckily, the dog doesn’t actually have to search the furniture. You simply tap on a piece of furniture, select how long you want to wait, and then collect the money once the time is up. The dog has no real part in the action.
  • The final playing need is “fetching,” and it’s just what you think it is. When you throw a ball or a stick, your dog will chase after it and bring it back to you. The best part about this need is that it also satisfies the “chasing” need, as the dog has to both run after the toy and bring it back to you.

Socializing Your Dog

  • The final category is social. And again, this is divided into several different specific needs.
Touch Pets Dogs 2
  • The first is “socialization,” which simply requires you to add friends to your neighborhood. To do this, you need to go into the neighborhood mode, and select add neighbor. The game gives you plenty of different ways to add friends or invite people to play. You can send out invitations using the Plus+ network, your iPhone contacts, your Facebook and Twitter friends, and more.
  • “Friendship” means you’ll have to spend time with other dogs once you add friends to your neighborhood. You can visit their home and vice versa, letting the animals play with one another.
  • After a while you may come across a dog who becomes very good friends with yours. If you spend enough time together, you may just be able to turn that “friendship” into “romance.” This is probably the hardest of the needs to satisfy as it takes a long time to develop a romantic relationship between dogs.

Experience, Money, and Bones

Touch Pets Dogs 2
  • Keeping your puppy happy also has side benefits, as it’s the only way to gain experience. Whether you’re petting your dog or playing with it, doing things that make it happy will cause the pup to shed experience points. These take the form of little colorful starbursts with the letters XP on them, which you can collect by touching them. Gaining experience is important because with each additional experience level you reach, additional content becomes available.
  • When it comes to earning money, the best option is to invest in lots of furniture. Because the more furniture you have, the more money you can make. It’s also important to regularly check back with the game, because if you leave your furniture for too long the cash will spoil, rendering it useless.
  • Aside from searching furniture for spare change, you can also earn cash by completing daily goals. Each day has five goals to complete, which are simple tasks like feeding your dog or letting it out. But in order to earn money you’ll need to do these tasks at specific times throughout the day. And the more goals you complete, the more money you earn.
  • Money can be spent on a variety of things. You can purchase furniture, toys, and new care products, as well as additional rooms for your home and even new puppies.

  • In addition to cash, Touch Pets Dogs 2 also features a second form of currency: bones. These can be earned slowly over time and also purchased using real-world money. Some items in the shop can only be bought with bones, but they can also be used to help speed the game up. Using bones on furniture will speed up the coin collecting process, while using them on your dog will cause it to go crazy and spurt out lots of coins and experience.
