Upgrade Your Units

There are loads of different ways to toughen up your characters, and you should be making use of them all. Whenever your commander level goes up, you can train your heroes and villains up to the same level.

You can also upgrade and equip new gear. Once all of your gear slots are full you can upgrade your gear level and start the process again. You can also equip new and more powerful weapons when you’ve got the right loot.

The game is pretty good at letting you know when you can boost and buff your powers, so make sure you take advantage of it.

Don’t Just Focus On Your Squad

You don’t just want to upgrade the five characters that you use the most. Make sure all of the units you’ve unlocked are as strong as they can be. That’s going to help a lot as you get deeper into the game.

You’re going to have a lot of coins to spend at the start of the game anyway, and using them to make sure all of your units are as powerful as possible is the best way to spend them.

Choose The Right Special Moves

You’ll unlock new commander moves while you play. Choose the ones that best compliment the team that you’ve got. If you don’t have a healer on your team, make sure you’re taking the health pack perk in with you.

If you find you’re not doing enough damage, make sure you’re taking an offensive perk into battle with you. Balancing your special moves and your team members is the key to winning.

Don’t Overreach

Make sure you check the power scores of the teams you’re fighting against. If your opponent is too tough, then you’re going to take a beating and waste your energy on a fight you can’t win. Instead, try something else to toughen up your team.

You can go back to levels you’ve already completed to grind some upgrades and toughen up. Check out the events as well, as they’ll give you a whole bunch of goodies and don’t cost anything to play.
