Theft City is a game about working your way up the criminal ranks – from smashing people with a hammer to robbing businesses and dealing drugs. It’s like GTA if GTA was a midcore game with a couple of idle twists. It’s fun, but it’s not without a certain level of challenge as well.

And that’s where this guide comes in. We’ve played a good chunk of Theft City and discovered a series of strategies that are going to help you take your criminal enterprises to the next level. Follow these and you’ll be the king of crime in no time.

It doesn’t matter if you’re swinging your hammer for your first time or you’ve just strapped on a machine gun to rob a bank – there’s going to be something here to help you out. These are the best hints, tips and cheats for Theft City.

Petty crime still pays

Even when you’ve unlocked the more lucrative criminal activities – breaking into houses, dealing drugs, that sort of thing – it’s still worth your while to keep robbing people. You’re going to be moving around the streets anyway, may as well get some extra cash while you do it.

Furniture first

When you rob a house it can be tempting to pop back outside when you’ve unlocked the door to grab the cash. Don’t. If you step too far outside the house will lock down and you won’t be able to steal the furniture. Get the household items and then go out to collect the cash.

Use the flaming skulls

The flaming skull power-up gives you super strength for a while. It also surrounds you with people to smash with your super hammer. It’s a great way to get some cash quickly, and while you will have to watch a video, it’s worth the extra few seconds of your life.

Keep upgrading

You should head back to your hideout regularly to spend some cash on upgrading your tools. Do the same with the businesses you can upgrade as well. The more powerful you are, the more money you’re going to be able to make. It’s basically the circle of criminal life.

Finish the missions

Missions are a great way to earn gems. Once you’ve unlocked them, check regularly to see what you need to do. You don’t have to go back to your base to check, tap the clipboard icon in the top left of the screen and you’ll get the same info. You can complete your missions from there too.
