Welcome to Gamezebo’s strategy guide for The Clumsys 2: Butterfly Effect.

General Information

Main Menu

  • The name of the currently selected player is displayed below the arch at the bottom of the screen. To change this, click the name of the player to display the profile window. Up to four players can be created, selected or deleted.
  • The Options button displays a window where there are toggle buttons for full screen mode, mute sound and Windows cursor. There are slider bars to adjust the volume of the sound effects and the music.
  • The Start button starts a new game if a new player has been created or returns to a saved point in the game for a returning player.
  • The Exit button quits the game if Yes is selected or returns to the main menu if No is selected.

Gameplay

  • There are thirty missions in the game. The aim in every mission is to find all of the hidden items in every area from the list at the top of the screen. After all items have been found, the next aim is to find all of the improper items in every area.
  • When a hidden item is found, it will be removed from the object list and added to the inventory at the bottom of the screen.
  • Some hidden objects will require an action to take place (such as opening a drawer or moving an item) before they can be found.
  • There is always more than one area to explore within each mission.
  • Clicking five times in the wrong area will cause the cursor to move uncontrollably for three seconds.
  • The hint button can be selected at the bottom-left corner of the screen to highlight a hidden object. Another hint can be used after 20 seconds.
  • Mini-games have to be completed in some missions. These are generally quite easy, although they can be bypassed by pressing the Skip button.
  • Three gadgets can be built as certain items are acquired throughout the game. None of the gadgets have to be used, but they can be quite helpful in certain areas. The fire gadget removes shadows, and enables the mouse cursor to highlight important items. The X-ray gadget quickly shows the location of all hidden objects in an area. The time sight gadget enables the mouse cursor to reveal how the scene should look when everything has been found.

Controls

  • A grey arrow is the default mouse cursor. Move the cursor around the current location and it will change when it passes over a hotspot area. Items that can be picked up do not change the cursor, as these are hidden objects that should be searched for and found in each location.
  • The spinning gears icon means that the hotspot can be selected or have an item used on it. The magnifying glass icon is used to examine a new area in the room where more hidden objects are found.

Game Interface

The game interface is shown below:

A: Object list. Shows the objects that need to be found in a mission. Objects in blue are currently available to find, while objects in black require an action to be performed or a puzzle to be solved before they can be found.

B: Basic controls. The arrow button displays the game menu. From here, you can access gadgets, in-game help, options and the main menu.

C: Inventory. Displays the items that have been found in a mission. Sometimes, many parts need to be found before an item is completed.

D: Inventory button. Closes the inventory window.
