Getting Started
? You can download Tap Pet Hotel for free for your iOS device by following the “Play Now” link at the top of this page.
? The main goal of the game is to constantly make your hotel bigger and better. To do this you’ll need to earn money, which comes from your clients.
? In order to get animal clients you’ll need pet rooms. These can be purchased from the build menu (the little blue hammer in the lower right corner) and they come in various types. Each kind of animal will provide a different amount of experience and rent income. Keep in mind that you can only buy each type of animal once, before it will become temporarily locked.
? Once you’ve selected an animal you’ll need to place and then build the room. Depending on the type of animal the build can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
? When rent is ready to be picked up you’ll see a gold coin in front of the room. To collect it, simply tap the coin.
? In order to keep your animals happy, you’ll also need to build what are called fun rooms. These rooms perform various functions, such as bathing or feeding, and they will also earn you money at specific time intervals. They tend to be much more expensive than regular pet rooms, but they also earn more money back, so be sure to save up some coins as it’ll pay off in the long run.
? The other way you can earn a bit of extra cash is by picking up trash. Pretty much every time you log into the game you’ll see a whole bunch of junk in front of your hotel. Things like bottles, plastic cups, and other garbage. To get rid of it all you need to do is tap the trash, which will also earn you a small amount of coins.
? In order to keep your hotel rating up there are a few things you’ll need to do. The first is to make sure that you connect rooms together, either by placing hallways or tubes reminiscent of of a hamster cage. The glass tubes are the cheapest, but just like the pet rooms, they will become locked temporarily right after you purchase them.
? Decorations are also important for keeping your rating up. But they’re also very expensive, so it’s better to focus on the connectors initially, and then move on to decorations once you start earning more money from more animals.
? You’ll get to a certain point in the game where you’ll be required to hire additional personnel, which you can do from the build menu. Each employee costs a certain amount, but it’s only a one time fee, so don’t worry about paying a regular salary.
? Initially you will only have access to a small amount of the options in the build menu, but as you gain experience additional options will unlock. And this goes for the temporarily locked items, as well. So, for instance, if you buy a bat room at level five, it may become locked again until you reach level eight. This prevents you from only purchasing a whole bunch of the cheapest animal rooms
? Eventually you’ll get to a point where you simply start running out of space. But thankfully you can spend some of your hard earned money on an expansion. There are three ways to grow: left, right, or up.
? You can also buy new backgrounds for your hotel, though they are purely cosmetic. And since they’re relatively expensive you might want to focus on the rest of the game before spending a wad of cash on a background.
? Like most social games, Tap Pet Hotel has two types of currency. There’s the regular cash that you’ll earn from the various rooms in your hotel, as well as dog treats, which is the game’s premium currency. You won’t earn dog treats as you play, they need to be purchased with real world cash.
? If you want to move anything around or delete a room or object, you’ll need to go into the settings menu (the tiny blue gear in the lower left hand corner.) While in this menu you can also visit neighbors (which, in reality, are just random other players) and you can earn a bit of extra money by collecting the trash in front of their hotels.
