Introduction to Syberia 2

Kate Walker and Hans Voralberg’s quest for Syberia continues in this excellent conclusion to the adventure. Starting off shortly after the events of the first game when Kate decided to leave Aralbad with Hans, the train has arrived in Romansburg, a remote town near the frozen waste. As Hans’ health gradually gets worse, Kate must first seek the help of the various people she meets along the way. To make things worse, a spy has been sent out from her previous employer’s company who is under orders to bring her back. Returning home is the last thing on Kate’s mind however, as she has every attention of accompanying Hans to Syberia, where he can meet the mammoths that he has dreamed about all his life.

GENERAL TIPS

CONTROLS

1.  Single left click to walk or double left click to run.

2. Single left click when the cursor is over a hotspot to perform actions. The type of action varies depending on the icon that is shown. Refer to the icons section below for more help.

3. Right click or press escape to access the in-game menu. From here, the dialogue notebook, cell phone, personal file and main menu can be accessed.

4. Right click or press escape to skip a cutscene or skip a line of dialogue.

ICONS

The ring can change to any of the following icons in the game:

1. Standard ring: Move within a location.

2. Illuminated ring: Move to a different section of a location or a new
location.

3. Standard magnifying glass: Talk to a character.

4. Illuminated maginfying glass: See a closer view.

5. Hand: Pick up an object.

6. Catapult: Perform an action.

7. Crossed catapult: Cannot perform an action.

SAVING AND LOADING

1. To save, press ESC to bring up the inventory and then click the menu button. Select the Save Game button and then click the New Saved Game box to save. Saved games are given a thumbnail image, date and time.

2. To load, press ESC to bring up the inventory and then click the menu button. Select the Load Game button and then click the thumbnail image of the game you would like to load.

INVENTORY

Press ESC or right click to bring up the inventory. All non-document items are added to this section of the inventory when Kate picks them up. Left click to select one and it will then be shown at the bottom-left corner of the playing area, which means that Kate can now use this object. To access the documents, select the Personal File button below the menu button in the inventory. Use a document by selecting it, or examine the document by clicking the eye icon.

CELL PHONE

Kate will receive calls on a phone at various points throughout the game, but occasionally it is necessary to make a call. Bring up the phone by pressing ESC or right clicking and then select the cell phone. Numbers that are stored in the memory can be accessed by using the up or down arrow on the phone. To make a call, enter the number and then click the send button.


DIALOGUE NOTEBOOK

Kate will receive various topics of conversation that can be discussed with characters in game. To see what topics are available, press ESC or click the right button and then select the dialogue notebook.

ATTIC KEY

Found on the table in the Voralberg house. It is used on the door at the top of the steps in the house.

BLACK BIRDCALL

Found by asking Emeliov for Help after talking to the monk about the Merula Alba. It is not used.

BOX OF MATCHES

Found on the table near the exit of the monastery. It is used on the Youkol relic in Hans’ room. It is used on the branches after they have been put on the ice in the frozen waste.

BRANCHES

Found in the area north of the river in the frozen waste. They are used on the ice at the bottom of the stones in the frozen waste.

BROTHER ALEXEI’S BOOK

Found in the secret bookcase in the monastery library. It is not used.

BRUSH

Found outside the hall after Hans is brought to the monastery. It can be used on the left mural in the chapel to reveal the candle locations used in the library.

COINS

Found by using the small key on the right candy machine drawer in Emeliov’s shop. The fifth coin is used on the left candy machine and the second coin is used on the middle candy machine.

CORK BUNG

Found on the snow near the device in the Youkol village. It is used on the lemming holes in the cave.

DREAM FRUIT

Found by making the lemming walk to the end of the lemming maze in the cave. It is given to the shaman.

EMPTY CAN

Found at the bottom of the coal dispenser in Romansburg. It is used on the jerry can in the area behind the fence in Romansburg.

EMPTY FLASK

Found on the device in the Youkol village. It is used on the chain on the device.

FISH CANDY

Found by using the second coin on the middle candy machine in Emeliov’s shop. It is given to Youki in Romansburg.

FISH TANK

Found on the counter in the house in the frozen waste. It is automatically put on the platform outside the house.

FISHBONE

Found in the youki pen in the Youkol village. It is used on the lemming hole in the cave.

FISHERMAN’S GUIDE

Found on the fireplace shelf in the house in the frozen waste. It is not used.

FLASK FULL OF WATER

After using the empty flask on the chain on the device in the Youkol village, the flask full of water is found by using the lever. It is used on the lemming hole in the cave.

GATE KEY

Found by giving the sugar candy to Malka in Romansburg. It is used on the lock on the gate at the end of the platform.

GAUZE BLANKET

Found by looking at the bag on the snowmobile near the mammoth statue. It is used on the slot on the bird carving.

GOLD BIRDCALL

Found by asking Emeliov for Help after talking to the monk about the Merula Alba. It is not used.

HANS’ SHROUD

Found by using the shroud on Hans in the train. It is shown to the patriarch in the monastery.

HATCHET

Found on the fireplace shelf in the house in the frozen waste. It is used on the left post of the bridge in the frozen waste. It is used to climb the cliff in the frozen waste.

HERBAL CANDLE

Found after using the correct items on the machine near the exit of the monastery. It is used on the Youkol relic in Hans’ room.

HERBS AND BRAMBLES

Found by looking at the gravestone in the monastery graveyard. They are used on the bucket on the machine near the exit of the monastery

IVORY HOOK

Found in the ark on the iceberg. It is used on the slot on the mast in the ark.

IVORY KEY

Found by putting the stone plates in the correct places on the disc in Syberia. It is used on the slot on the device in Syberia. It is used on the second hole on the bottom row on the device.

IVORY KNIFE

Found by looking at Ivan’s sled near the mammoth statue. It is used on the sled rope.

JERRY CAN

Found on top of the barrel in the area behind the fence in Romansburg. It is used on the generator.

LEATHER STRAP

Found by looking at the fence in the Youkol village. It is not used.

LURE

Found in the fish tank when fishing at the back of the house in the frozen waste. It is used to catch an orange salmon.

MAMMOTH DOLL

Found in the cave in the dream. It is given to Hans in the Voralberg house in the dream.

MECHANICAL HEART

Found by talking to Hans about Departure in the train. It is used on the post in the bar in Romansburg.

MONK’S HABIT

Found on the rock below the monastery after the monk has gone off to look for the Merula Alba. Kate automatically wears the monk’s habit.

NARWHAL TUSK

Found outside the ark on the iceberg. It is used on the hook near the penguins.

OFFERING

Found by using the box of matches on the branches on the ice in the frozen waste. It is given to Youki.

OIL DISPENSER

Found at the end of the train in the frozen waste. It is used on Oscar.

ORANGE SALMON

Found by using the fishing rod with the correct bait on the lake outside the house in the frozen waste. It is used on the bear outside the house.

ORNATE KEY

Found in the room in the monastery chapel. It is used on the lock in the chapel.

PLAN OF THE TRAIN

Found in the bedroom of the train in the frozen waste. It is not used.

PRAYER WHEEL

Found on the table in the shaman’s house in the Youkol village. It is used on the stick near the tree in the cave. It is used in the cave to call the bird.

REINDEER ANTLERS

Found in the basket in the Youkol village. They are not used.

ROPE WITH PLATE

Found by using the hatchet on the left post of the bridge in the frozen waste. It is used on the tree at the left side of the bridge.

RUSSIAN DOLL

Found on the fireplace shelf in the house in the frozen waste. It is used on the penguin nest on the iceberg.

SCROLL

Found by talking to the monk outside Hans’ room in the monastery. It is not used.

SHEARS

Found in the wheelbarrow near the exit of the monastery. They are used on the brambles on the gravestone.

SHROUD

Found by using the token on the slot of the machine near the monastery. It is used on Hans in the train to get Hans’ shroud.

SILVER BIRDCALL

Found by asking Emeliov for Help after talking to the monk about the Merula Alba. It is used on the monk outside the monastery.

SLINGSHOT

Automatically made from the leather strap and the reindeer antlers. It is used on the icicles above the drum machine in the Youkol village.

SMALL KEY

Found by looking at the broken candy machine near Emeliov. It is used on the right candy machine drawer in Emeliov’s shop to get the coins.

STAINED GLASS MAMMOTH

Found by talking to the monk outside Hans’ room in the monastery. It is used on the hole in the library after lighting the correct candles.

STONE PLATES

Found in the chest, near the Syberia flower and near the disc on Syberia. They are used on the disc on Syberia.

SUGAR CANDY

Found by using the fifth coin on the left candy machine in Emeliov’s shop. It is given to Malka in Romansburg to get the gate key.

SYBERIA FLOWER

Found at the side of the path near the gate in Syberia. It is used on Youki in the ark.

TOKEN

Found by asking for Malka about Help in Romansburg. It is used on the slot of the machine near the monastery.

VORALBERG KEY

Found by pressing the correct buttons on Oscar in the shaman’s house in the Youkol village. It is used on the slot in the control compartment of the train.

WINTER CLOTHES

After trying to walk to the monastery in Romansburg, the winter clothes are found in the attic in Emeliov’s shop after asking Emeliov for Help.

YOUKOL MASK

Found in the shaman’s house in the Youkol village. It is given to Oscar in the train after talking to him about the Youkol Mask.

YOUKOL MEDALLION

Found on the guard’s body in Syberia. It is not used.

YOUKOL RELIC

Found in the secret bookcase in the monastery library. It is used on the table in Hans’ room.


WALKTHROUGH

Romansburg – First Visit

The game starts in the train. Walk south and open the right door to exit the train. Walk down the steps to talk to the man on the platform: He introduces himself as Colonel Emeliov and welcomes Kate to Romansburg. Walk south to the end of the platform. Use the wheel and then pull the lever on the left to wind the train. Talk to Oscar about the Train: He asks Kate to find some coal. Walk up to the other end of the platform and examine the gate. Try to open the gate to see that it is locked. Walk back down the platform and enter the shop.

Examine the broken candy machine on the counter near Emeliov and get the small key from the box. Exit the view. Walk south one screen and examine the three candy machines on the table. Use the small key on the drawer of the right candy machine to get the coins from the drawer.

Select the coins and use the fifth coin on the slot of the left candy machine. Turn the handle and get the sugar candy. Use the second coin on the slot of the middle candy machine. Turn the handle and get the fish candy. Exit the shop to return to the platform.

Walk one screen and then run east to the coal dispenser. Talk to the girl in the area below and ask about Romansburg: The gate stops people from going up to the platform. Examine the lever and then pull it to see that the machine is not working. Return to the shop. Talk to Emeliov about Coal three times: Kate may have to wait over a week for maintenance. Ask about the Key twice: He lost it. Exit the shop and return to the coal dispenser to talk to Malka. Ask her about the Key: She wants a present before she tells Kate. Give the sugar candy to Malka to get the gate key. Return to the gate at the north end of the platform and use the gate key on the lock. Run downstairs to the lower level.

Walk west twice to the bottom of the coal dispenser. Get the empty can. Move west, north and west to the alley. Use the gate and talk to the man about Gas: He says that he doesn’t have any. Walk west one screen to see two posters on the fence. Examine the left poster and then operate the top-left corner of it to reveal a hole in the fence. Climb through the hole.

Examine the crate in the middle of the area and move the lock to release Youki. Walk to the left side of the area and get the jerry can on top of the barrel. Walk south and go through the hole in the fence to return to the alley. Move east three times to return to the bottom of the coal dispenser. Use the jerry can on the generator. Press the red button to start the generator. Walk west to Malka, east once and then go up the stairs to the upper level.

Return to the coal dispenser. Examine the panel on the front of the dispenser and then pull the lever to load the train with coal. Oscar then appears and tells Kate that Hans has gone missing. Return to the lower level.

Walk west one screen. Open the door at the right side of the area to enter the pub. Hans is standing near the mechanical horses when he mentions Syberia and mammoths and then suddenly falls to the floor. Kate then carries Hans back to the train. Exit the train and return to the lower level.

Return to the area where Kate climbed through the hole in fence. Continue west from the hole to see the monastery. Kate refuses to go any further as it is too cold. Return to the town and go upstairs to the upper level.

Enter the shop and ask Emeliov for Help: He will lower the ladder. Climb up the ladder and get the winter clothes. Climb back down the ladder and exit the shop. Enter the train and open the left door to enter the bathroom. Kate will change into the winter clothes. Exit the train and return to the lower level.

Talk to Malka about the Mission: The monks at the monastery may be able to help. Talk about the Monastery: The patriarch will not treat Hans unless Kate follows all of the rules. Enter the pub and walk left to see Cirkos at the bar. Talk to Cirkos about Malka: The patriarch decides whether a patient is actually dying by taking a print of the patient’s face on a piece of cloth. Ask about the Shroud: There is an iron box outside the village containing a pile of linen sheets. Exit the pub. Talk to Malka about the Monastery: She says that she will help. Ask for Help and Malka will give Kate a token for the box of shrouds.

Run north and west three times to see the monastery. Continue north to the bridge. Examine the box. Use the token on the slot of the machine.

Pull the lever and then get the shroud. Return to the town and go to the upper level.

Enter the train and run to the bedroom at the back. Use the shroud on Hans to get Hans’ Shroud. Exit the train and return to the bridge near the monastery. Cross over the bridge and run south down the path to see the monastery high above. Run east along the path to see a monk by a frozen pond. Talk to the monk about Hans: He mentions a bird named the Merula Alba. Talk about the Bird twice: It is a very rare bird. Return to the town and go to the upper level.

Enter the shop and ask Emeliov for Help to get three birdcalls. Return to the frozen lake near the monastery and give the silver birdcall to the monk. After he runs off to find the Merula Alba, get the monk’s habit on the rock to wear it. Walk south and pull the chain. Use the elevator to enter the monastery.

Monastery

Follow the path to the middle of the monastery and the bells will ring. Walk to the door on the left side of the area and open it to enter the chapel. Walk to the other end of the chapel to talk to the patriarch. Talk about the Mission twice: He needs a sign from God. Ask for Help: He wants an imprint. Talk about the Shroud to show him the imprint of Hans’ face. The monks bring Hans to the monastery and the patriarch tells Kate that Hans is dying. Talk about Hans: He allows Kate to see Hans. Walk north through the doorway and east to Hans’ room.

Talk to Hans about the Monastery: He wants Kate to find Alexei Toukianov. Exit the room and talk to the monk about Hans: The monk says that Alexei is dead. Talk about Brother Alexei twice to receive a scroll and a stained glass mammoth. Walk north to go outside. Get the brush by the bucket. Walk west and then open the large door between the monks to enter the library.

Walk east to the bottom of the slope and get the long candle rod at the right side of the room.

Think of the twelve candles as a clock, with twelve o’clock being in line with the top of the cross on the floor. Light the candles at three, four, eight, nine and twelve o’clock to open a hole at the top of the library.

Walk to the top of the slope and look through the hole. Select the stained glass mammoth from the documents section of the inventory and use it on the hole. Press the bottom, left, top and right arrows to make a light appear on the pillar. Walk down the slope and look at the eye of the mammoth. Use the middle of the circle to reveal a bookcase. Look at the bookcase and get Brother Alexei’s book and the Youkol relic. Exit the library.

Return to the elevator and look at the wheelbarrow to get the shears. Return to the entrance of the library and continue north to the graveyard. Walk to the other end of the graveyard and look at the gravestone with the brambles on it. Use the shears on the brambles. Get the herbs and brambles and then exit the graveyard. Return to the entrance of the monastery and look at the machine on the left.


Use the herbs and brambles on the bucket. Open the tube below the funnel and get a candle wick from below the chain. Close the tube. Pull the big handle at the left side of the bucket to heat the bucket. Pull the small handle in front of the bucket. Open the tube and get the herbal candle. Get the box of matches. Exit the view of the machine and return to Hans’ room.

Look at the table near the side of the bed and use the Youkol relic on it. Use the herbal candle on the Youkol relic. Use the box of matches on the Youkol relic and Hans will recover from his illness. Exit the room. Return to the chapel. Enter the room at the other side of the chapel and get the ornate key. Walk to the entrance of the chapel and examine the right gate. Use the ornate key on the lock and continue east into the room. Use the rope. Exit the chapel and return to the graveyard. Run north one screen and then examine the hole in the wall at the corner of the graveyard. Use the casket to move it in front of the hole. Return to Hans’ room and talk to Hans to exit the monastery.

Romansburg – Second Visit

Talk to Hans about Departure: He wants Kate to fix the horses in the pub and gives her a mechanical heart. Exit the train. Walk downstairs to the lower level and enter the pub. Walk west one screen and open the door at the right side of the area to return to the pub. Walk to the mechanical horses and look at the pipes.


Put the mechanical heart on the post. Select the post three times. Select the middle hole in the bottom-left corner of the mechanical heart, top hole in the top-left corner, top hole in the top-right corner and top hole in the bottom-right corner. Select the post to start the horses. Kate hears a rumbling noise and returns to the top level to see the train leaving.

Pull the lever and a section of the track will flip over to reveal a gangcar. Use the gangcar to discover that the machine doesn’t work. Return to the lower level and enter the pub. Talk to Cirkos about Youki: He says that Kate can have him. Exit the pub and walk north to the alley. Go through the open gate. Walk to the left side of the area to see Youki. Give the fish candy to Youki and he will start to follow Kate. Return to the upper level and run to the other end of the platform. Use the gangcar to exit Romansburg.

Frozen Waste

Walk east for five screens and Youki will chase a beaver into the river. Run north and get the branches. Run south and west three times to see a pile of stones. Examine the stones. Use the branches on the ice at the bottom of the stones and then use the box of matches on the branches. Get the offering. Run east four times to the river. Give the offering to Youki and he will knock down a tree. Walk south, east and then walk along the tree to cross the river. Run north, north-west, east and north to the front of the house. Enter the house.

Look at the fireplace shelf and get the Russian doll, hatchet and fisherman’s guide. Run south one screen and then west to the corner of the house. Look at the counter and get the fish tank. Move east one screen. Open the door. Walk down the steps. Use the fishing rod at the side of the platform. Look at the fish tank and select the top-right lure.

Use the rod on the dark area at the right side of the river to catch an orange salmon. Return to the house and open the front door to see the bear. Look at the left window. Throw the orange salmon on the bear and it will leave the area. Exit the house.

Run west and south to the broken bridge. Use the hatchet on the left post of the bridge to get the rope with plate. Use the rope with plate on the tree at the left side of the bridge to swing to the other side. Run south, north and east to the base of the cliff. Use the hatchet on the cliff. Use the hatchet to start climbing up the cliff. Climb up twice, east twice, up four times, west four times, up twice, east twice, up twice, east twice and up four times to the top of the cliff. Run south twice to see Igor and Ivan on the snowmobile with Hans. Run south twice and then north to the satellite tower.

Look at the equipment in the hut and press the red switch. Set the numeric display to 0328 using the small red buttons.

Press the red button on the microphone to talk to Boris. Climb up the ladder and move the handle twice to point the arrow to B. Climb down the ladder and look at the equipment in the hut. Turn on the radar by pressing the bottom-right red switch. Exit the view.

Run east, south, west and north twice to the plane. Look at the plane to talk to Boris. Talk about the Train: The flying wing has broken. Talk about the Flying Wing: The plane has to be put into manual control mode. Use the plane. Set the left panel to 80 and the right panel to 20.

Press the button to return to the train area. Run north and then east. Climb up the stairs and open the door to enter the passenger area of the train.

Run up the train for three screens to the bedroom. Get the plan of the train. Run south to the end of the train and get the oil dispenser on the floor. Run to the other end of the train and go outside. Go down the right steps of the train and then run south to see Oscar’s arm in the snow. Use the arm to pull Oscar out of the snow. Talk to Oscar and then use the oil dispenser on him. Walk east one screen and return to the passenger area of the train. The train will move for a few seconds and then stop. Exit the train.

Walk south and board the control area. Talk to Oscar: The passenger car is stuck. Return to the passenger area. Walk up the train for two screens to see a circular panel on the floor. Open the inventory and select the phone. Press the up arrow once and then press the send button to call Oscar.

Examine the mechanism and move the first, third and fifth levers to start the train.

Mammoth Statue

The train arrives near a massive mammoth statue. Run north toward the statue and then south to the snowmobile.

Examine the bag at the back of the snowmobile and get the gauze blanket. Exit the view. Look at the bird carving and use the gauze blanket on the slot to stop the noise. Exit the view. Run south, north and then south to see Igor on his own. Talk to Igor about himself: He says that there are spirits around. Talk about Spirits twice and he will leave on his snowmobile. Run west and south to the bird carving area. Use the shoes to wear them. Walk up the slope toward the mammoth statue. Continue north to see Ivan. Use the phone to call Oscar. When Ivan turns to look at the train, examine the sled at the top-left corner of the area. Get the ivory knife and use it on the sled rope. Kate falls through the ice and lands in the Youkol village.

Youkol Village – First Visit

Walk south and open the door to exit the bedroom. Look at the basket at the right side of the door and get the reindeer antlers. Exit the view. Cross the bridge at the right side of the area and then run south for one screen. Examine the fence on the left and get the leather strap. Kate will then automatically combine the leather strap with the reindeer antlers to make a slingshot. Run north twice to approach the drum machine.

Use the slingshot on the icicle above the drum machine to break it. Continue north into the shaman’s house.

Examine the masks at the right side of the area and get the Youkol mask. Run west to the other side of the house. Look at the table and get the prayer wheel. Exit the house. Run south three screens. Look at the device between the pots.


Get the empty flask. Get the cork bung on the snow at the bottom-left corner of the device. Use the empty flask on the tiny chain at the top-right corner of the device. Use the handle at the bottom-right corner of the device twice. Get the flask full of water. Run south one screen. Look at the youki pen and get the fishbone. Run east and north. Cross over the bridge below the train track and then run north three screens to enter the cave.

Run south to the other side of the cave. Examine the wall. Use the cork bung on the bottom-right hole. Exit the view of the wall. Look at the stick at the right side of the tree and use the prayer wheel on it. Use the prayer wheel to call the bird. Exit the view. Look at the wall to see the lemming disappear into the maze. Get the cork bung. Use the cork bung on the hole at the left side of the lemming. Get the cork bung and use it on the hole at the right side of the lemming. Use the flask full of water on the top-left hole. Use the fishbone on the hole above the lemming. Get the dream fruit.

Run south and north to exit the cave. Run south twice, east four times and north twice to return to the shaman’s house. Talk to the shaman about Hans: He is in a dream world. Talk about the Dream: Kate must go into the dream world to talk to Hans. Talk about the Mission to enter the dream world.

Dream

Run north and then west to the back of the cave. Examine the mammoth doll on the floor and then get the doll. Exit the view. Run west and east to exit the cave. Run south twice, west three times, south and west to see a girl by the bench. Talk to the girl about Kate: She introduces herself as Anna Voralberg. Talk about Anna: Her father is Rodolphe Voralberg. Talk about Hans: She seems unsure when Kate mentions Hans. Talk about Father Voralberg: He should be at home. Stop talking to Anna. Run west and then east to enter the town. Run east twice and then go through the doorway at the right side of the road to approach the fountain junction. Run east and then north to enter the Voralberg house.

Run south one screen. Examine the top of the clock to see that the time shown is 2:45. Exit the view. Examine the bottom of the clock to see switches at the side of the Roman numeral display.

Use the right switch five times and the left switch once to move the time to 2:45. Use the statue at the left side of the bell and then use the statue at the right side of the bell. Use the right switch nine times and the left switch once and then use the pendulum to start it swinging. Use one of the weights to spin the clock and then use the bell. Rodolphe Voralberg will put down his newspaper and leave the house. Walk east through the doorway. Examine the table between the two chairs and get the attic key. Exit the view. Walk north through the doorway and go upstairs. Use the attic key on the door. Walk to the other side of the attic and give the mammoth doll to Hans. Examine the desk to return to the Youkol Village.


Youkol Village – Second Visit

Exit the shaman’s house. Run south four times and then north. Climb up the ladder. Run south, north and then south to see the train. Run north and then south. Try to get the hook in front of the train. Run west one screen. Climb up the ladder to enter the control section of the train. Talk to Oscar about the Train: The engine springs need winding. Walk south one screen. Examine Oscar to see his heart.

Think of the twelve buttons as a clock with twelve o’clock being in line with the black button on the heart. Press the buttons at three and seven o’clock. Press the buttons at three, six, nine and twelve o’clock. Get the Voralberg key. Exit the house. Run south and west three times. Walk up the stairs to the platform. Climb up the ladder to enter the control compartment. Examine the controls.


Use the Voralberg key in the slot between the top two gauges (A). Pull the top-left lever (B) to make the snake device appear. Pull the small left switch (C) at the right side of the panel to fill the train with coal. Pull the top-right (D) and top-left (E) levers to raise the snake device from the top of the train. Pull the small right switch (F) at the right side of the panel. Turn the big wheel (G) at the left side of the panel. Press the small switch (H) at the left side of the panel and then use the small wheel (I) at the left side of the panel to reveal the ark.

Exit the train. Walk down the steps. Run east one screen to see Hans boarding the ark. Cross over the tiny bridge and then run north twice. Talk to the Youkol about the Great Gates: He agrees to open the gates if Kate takes Youki. Run west and south. Cross over the tiny bridge and run south twice to the youki pen. Examine the gate and then use the gate to release Youki. Run west twice. Cross over the tiny bridge and run north three times to board the ark.

Iceberg

Climb down the ladder onto the iceberg.

Run north twice. Examine the narwhal tusk on the floor and then get it. Exit the view. Run south and then west. Use the narwhal tusk on the hook near the penguins. Run west to see Ivan try to leave without Kate. Run west one screen and then north-west. Examine the eggs. Use the Russian doll on the eggs and Kate will call the penguins over. Run east twice and a section of ice will crack. Use the narwhal tusk on the crack to float over to the ark.

Move the barrel at the right side of the hold to unblock the door. Open the door. Climb up the ladder near Hans. Get the ivory hook. Climb back down the ladder. Open the door to return to the hold below Ivan. Climb onto the barrel to see the mast. Use the ivory hook on the slot. Pull the rope to attach it to the hook. Exit the view of the mast. Pull the lever above the barrel to knock Ivan over the side of the ark. The ark then continues on to Syberia.


Syberia

Walk off the ark and run east one screen. Climb up the ladder to see a dead guard. Examine the guard and get the Youkol medallion. Climb down the ladder. Run west twice. Go down the steps. Examine the chest near the fence and get the three stone plates from inside. Run north one screen and examine the flowers at the right side of the path. Get the Syberia flower and the stone plate. Exit the view. Run south and east twice. Board the ark.

Climb down the ladder to the hold. Use the Syberia flower on the youki to wake him. Climb up the right ladder. Run west one screen. Walk to the left side of the area and go down the steps. Run north three screens to the gate. Pull the lever in front of the gate to open it. Run north one screen and then walk up the steps. Run south one screen and examine the device in the middle of the area. Examine the floor below the device to see a disc.

Get the stone plate from the top-left corner of the disc. Get the stone plate from the top-left corner of the disc. Use the first plate on the bottom-left corner, the second plate on the right side, the third plate on the top-left corner, the fourth plate on the top and the fifth plate on the bottom-right corner.

Exit the view of the disc. Turn the wheel on the device and a key will be raised from the middle of the disc. Examine the disc and get the ivory key. Exit the view. Walk up the left steps. Continue left and go down the steps to see another device. Examine the right side of the device and use the ivory key in the slot to see symbols. Get the ivory key and use it on the second hole on the bottom row.

Use the wheel to turn it. Examine the pipes at the left side of the device. Half-open the top-middle hole, half-open the bottom-left hole, close the bottom-middle hole. Use the lever to complete the game.
