Swing Rider turns Spider-Man’s day to day into a video game, challenging you to swing like the webbed superhero in a variety of challenging races. It’s not about swinging and gaining momentum, like in the latest video game. Instead, it’s all about trying to hit a bunch of different boost rings to get a speed boost.

In this guide, we’re going to give you a bunch of tips and tricks to help you win most of your races. We might not turn you into Spider-Man himself, as this is just a beginner’s guide, but we’ll get you darn close.

Swing Rider Tips and Tricks:

  • How Swing Rider works: Swing Rider is a lot like any Spider-Man game you’ve ever played. You play as an average guy or girl who has to swing through a bunch of boost-providing circles to beat out all of the opposition. That’s right, this is a racing game. Each race is a knockout, with four different stages and the racer that comes last gets knocked out each race. The main gameplay mechanic is to tap and hold the screen to swing upwards and release to start dropping again. Using just these mechanics you’ll aim to hit all of the speed-boosting circles to, hopefully, win the race. You’ll also face obstacles, which you’ll have to avoid. You can get bonus score from near misses and the like though.
  • You don’t have to hit all of the circles: This is a mistake we made at first – trying to hit all of the circles. It’s unnecessary, and very challenging. Chances are you’ll just knock yourself off course and spend the rest of the race trying to recover. Just try and keep your speed boost active by lining up the easy circles. Once you’ve played for a while you’ll get a feel for how long a speed boost lasts. Also, we generally avoided the high up circles where possible, as they tend to throw you off course.
  • Quick taps can keep you in your racing line: Not every tap has to be a long-winded tap and hold. We often found a quick tap and hold every second or so kept us on our racing line, allowing us to accurately hit all of the circles. We simply held on longer or released for longer to hit lower or higher circles whenever we needed to. It’s easier when you remain in control.
  • Watch out for obstacles: We can’t count the number of times we were just enjoying a little flight before we flew head first into a bridge. Don’t be like us. Just keep an eye ahead at all times and readjust your flight patch as soon as you see any upcoming obstacles.
  • Ignore the other racers: The other racers just prove to be hugely distracting, so we recommend just ignoring them completely. Whenever we got freaked out by being overtaken, we just ended up making mistakes. Instead, just stick to the plan, maintain your racing line, and you’ll be back on track in no time.
