Watch Your Face

Keep an eye on the color of Stretch Guy’s face. It’ll tell you how close his limbs are to snapping. Sort of like in real life. If it’s green, everything’s good. Yellow you’re skirting the danger area. When things start to go red it’s time to re-think your strategy.

You’ll fail the level if one of your limbs snaps, so make sure you’re only stretching out to the most dangerous lengths when you have no other options. A quick re-arrangement of your arms and legs will usually help out.

You Can’t Dangle

When you pull a hand or foot off a wall, you can’t just leave it dangling and pick another limb to stretch. Leave a limb dangling and you’ll find the others grey out. You can only choose a new limb when all four are stuck down.

It’s a good idea to make small moves instead of trying to dangle a limb. Small moves won’t stretch you out and you’ll be better placed to make it to where you need to go.

Don’t Touch Saws

In some levels you’re going to have to smash boxes my mangling them in spinning saws. Be very careful when you’re doing this, because catching any part of your character on a saw is going to end the level.

Move cautiously around the saws, and avoid going close to them if you can. There’s nothing more annoying than getting close to the finish line only to get kicked back because you’ve been shredded by a blade.

Button Controlled Extra Limbs

The game doesn’t make it super clear, but there are extra limbs you can control when you push buttons. When the limb turns white, drag it to where you want it to be.

There are levels you can only finish using these extra limbs, so it’s important to understand how they work. Make sure the button is pressed – it’ll change color as well as showing you the extra limb turning white.

Avoid Cannonballs

Getting hit by a cannonball won’t kill you, but your body can deflect their shots and make them miss what you’re aiming at. Move out of the way before you drop the ball in the cannon and you’ll be fine.

If a cannonball does bounce off in the wrong direction, remember that you can pick them up and drop them back into the cannon. It’s annoying, but it’s the only way out of the mess you made for yourself.
