Not sure how to change the Starfield FOV in-game? Not to worry, this guide is here to help! Whether you’re more of a first-person or third-person player, you can swap between them in Starfield. The method for this is different on PC and Xbox, so I’ve included both processes below.

Set in 2330, Starfield takes you on a journey through a world where humanity has far surpassed life on Earth. Other planets in the solar system are inhabited by humans, and there’s a group of space explorers called Constellation – and you’re a member of this group. It’s your job to search for rare artifacts across the galaxy as you travel to a wide variety of planets that house friends and foes.

Now, let’s delve deeper into how to change FOV in Starfield!

How to Change Starfield FOV

The way to change the FOV in Starfield differs on PC and Xbox – we’ll go over both of them below. It’s important to note that you can’t actually change the FOV during the first mission in Starfield. Once the game’s intro is completed, you’ll gain access to the different FOVs, so don’t fret!

PC

On PC, you can press Mouse 3 and use your mouse scroll wheel to change the FOV. You can swap between first-person to third-person by doing this, allowing you to play the game how you want to.

Xbox

On Xbox, all you have to do is press the View Button on your controller to switch between the different FOVs.

Which FOV is Best?

The answer to this question is entirely subjective, but we’ll mention a few pointers about both FOV types. Firstly, it depends on what kind of game experience you want, and what works best for your playstyle. Plus, you may be used to first-person games rather than third-person games. There are no groundbreaking benefits to choosing either one and the game will play out the exact same way, so it’s fine to experiment with both to see which you prefer.
