Spiral Roll is one of those modern mobile games that you’re going to find yourself spending hours with. It’s short and sharp, but really easy to pick up and play. That doesn’t mean there aren’t tips and tricks that can help you get even better though, which is where this guide comes in.

We’ve put a few hours into the game, and we reckon we’ve got some ideas that are going to see your scores jumping upwards – which, after all, is the reason you’re playing. We’ll also answer some of the questions you have about the game – like what do you do with all of the coins that you collect?

Got your own Spiral Roll tips and tricks? Make sure you let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the article, that way we can all get better and feel good about ourselves. That’ll be nice.

Learn to Release

No matter how big the spiral you’ve got in front of your chisel, if you’re pressing on the screen when you hit an obstacle you’re not going to get much farther. You need to release to let the spiral roll, which will allow it to smash through whatever’s in front of you and let you slip by.

There’s also an upwards flick when you stop scraping, which will send your spiral into the air. This is how you can hit the bonus boxes that pop up – getting the timing of your release right is key to getting the best points.

Keep Grinding

As soon as your spiral has knocked down a wall, you can start scraping again, even if there’s still rubble around. The more scraping you do, the more points you get, so get grinding as soon as you can to get those combo bonuses going up.

You can also get your points up by making sure you’re scraping even when there’s only a small stretch of wood or gold. You should always be looking for ways to get more points, even if it’s just a couple here and there.

What Are The Coins For?

Strangely enough, they don’t seem to be for anything. Sure there’s loads of them scattered around the levels, but there isn’t anyway to spend them. They might become useful in a later update, so it’s worth trying to pick up as many as you can, but don’t put your run in danger to try and get loads – right now points are what matters.

Watch an Advert

When your run comes to a premature end it’s always worth watching a video to keep going. There’s a very good chance you’re going to have to watch a video before your next go anyway, so you may as well keep your points going.

It’s a bit annoying, and no mistake, but it’s a sacrifice you’re going to have to make if you want to get the best scores.
