Welcome to the Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor walkthrough on Gamezebo. Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor is a line drawing/platformer game created by Tiger Style Games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This walkthrough includes tips and tricks, helpful hints, and a strategy guide to how to complete Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor.
General Game Information
- You are a spider whose primary goal is to survive by spinning webs and eating bugs.
- Your other objective is to explore the manor, searching for secrets and clues.
- Use these observations to piece together your own conclusions about what happened to the manor’s occupants.
- There are four playing modes: Adventure, Feeding Frenzy, Hunger, and Precision.
- This guide focuses on the Adventure mode.
Menu Options
- The first two levels provide tutorials for learning how to move around and eat bugs.
- For more specific instructions, access the “How To Play” feature from the main menu.
- Go to Records to view your achievements, high scores, and lifetime stats.
- Here you’ll see how many of the 17 secrets you’ve found.
- You may replay a level anytime by going to “Level Select”.
- This is particularly useful for returning to specific levels to find secrets or clues, or to unlock secret rooms.
About the Director’s Cut
There are 10 new levels spread out in between the original levels:
- Between the Walls
- Woodshop
- Water Tank
- Between Floors
- Upstairs Hallway
- Mouse Hole
- CK’s Study
- Bedroom Closet
- Nursery
- Attic
Nine rooms are regular levels; one of these is a secret room.
Walkthrough – Tutorials: 1. Forest Floor and 2. Forest Branches
Forest Floor
Tutorial on walking and jumping.
Tip: You’ll mostly be jumping around to eat insects, but it’s the walking that helps you discover the manor’s hidden secrets.
Forest Branches
Tutorial on creating webs and crawling on them.
3. Front Yard
Create webs and eat bugs to advance to the next level.
4. Porch
Observations: A bunch of rolled newspapers on the porch, indicating the house has been empty or abandoned for around 3 to 4 days.
5. Entranceway
Observations:
A pile of unopened mail on the floor. On the table, a bottle of liquor and a framed photo of a woman. A pair of work boots near the door.
Secret #1: Jump up to the ceiling. Above the light fixture is an opening to a secret compartment. Inside it are several unpaid bills stamped with red notices.
6. Foyer
Go inside the grandfather clock. Jump across the clock hands to change the time from 8:54 to 9:00. You’ll need this to trigger access to a secret room later.
Observations: A large family photo on the wall of a father, mother, 2 little boys close in age, and a parrot on the father’s shoulder. The family portrait is labeled “CK, N, R, BY Bryce”. The older blond boy is N and the younger dark-haired boy is R.
7. Shelves
Observations: A trophy cup with the name “N Bryce”. A boxing trophy labeled “R Bryce No 2”. A photo on the wall of 3 children: R Bryce, L Stewart, N Bryce. N has his arm around L, who is holding hands with an unhappy R. On the desk, a photo of N Bryce in military uniform being decorated with a medal.
Secret #2: On the desk, there’s a hole in between the two sheep bookstands. Inside is a secret compartment with a red ribbon, some markers, and a blueprint with x’s and question marks (in search of the secret room).
8. Pantry
Secret #3: Crawl around to the left side of the bread box. Inside is a photo of N, torn in half, along with some birdseed.
9. Kitchen Sink
Shiny, sparkling surfaces cannot be crawled on or anchored to.
Observations: A wedding ring down in the sink’s drain pipe.
10. Bathtub
Secret #4: On the shelf is a wooden box with a perfume bottle and a love letter, sealed with a heart.
11. Linen Closet
Tip: To eat mosquitos, you’ll have to create webs first, then chase the mosquitos around, driving them towards the webs.
Observations: The wall is broken, the hole marked with a large red X. On the floor is a flashlight.
Secret #5: Crawl into the woven basket below the shelves. Inside is a putty knife and splotches of plaster residue.
12. Between the Walls
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Jump on the hornet’s nest to release the hornets.
13. Library
Hit the red button on the ceiling to make the clock hands glow.
Observations: Another instance of 9 o’clock. A chair toppled over. A bird on a book spine. Under a stack of books, a paper signed CK.
14. Garden
Observations: A bowl with a trowel. On the grass, a glove with some residue.
15. Well
Observations: A heart shaped locket hanging on a twig, with photos of a man and a woman (N and L). A red-haired doll and some coins at the bottom of the well.
16. Fountain
Jump on the tombstone to illuminate 4 arrows pointing in various directions. Take note of the directions, you’ll need them later to unlock a secret room.
Observations: A tombstone with the name of C.K. Bryce, etched with a bird on top, and below it, the emblem of a ship’s wheel, scythe and hammer.
17. Woodshop
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Observations: A room filled with woodworking and carpentry tools. On the wall, a photo of a woman, the same photo on the Entranceway table.
Secret #6: Crawl inside the work desk and go all the way down until you reach some missing floorboards. Hidden under that are a jar of coins and some travel brochures.
18. Clothesline
Observations: Hanging on the clothesline are both men’s clothing and women’s clothing (mostly lingerie).
19. Under the Stairs
Hit the green/red light switch to turn on the light. It will attract the moths to make it easier for you to gather them all into one web.
20. Water Tank
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Hit the light bulb to toggle it on or off. Hit the water valve to turn off the water so you can access the other side of the room.
Observations: A blue urn, a book, and some small wooden boxes on the floor.
Secret #7: Near the ceiling, crawl into the large pipe from where the water is leaking. Follow the pipe until you enter the water tank. Inside is a gear-based mechanism, a crank, and a wrench.
21. Basement
Hit the 4 white knobs in the correct order (in the shape of a Z), based on the directional arrows on the tombstone. First, the knob on the left wall (opposite the jar on the shelf). Second, the knob on the top right, connected to the pipes. Third, the knob on the bottom left corner of the floor. And last, the knob on the furnace.
The knobs must be triggered in the right order in order to unlock a secret room. If you accidentally hit a knob in the wrong order, you’ll need to restart the level and try again.
Secret #8: Under the furnace is a diagonal slot. This is a shiny surface, so you won’t be able to walk on it. A series of long jumps should get you to the rear of the furnace. Behind the furnace are burnt letters addressed to N Bryce, L Stewart, and LS Bryce.
22. Between Floors
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Secret #9: On the bottom right is a hole in the wall. Go through it and keep going up through the panels until you reach the top. Inside is a golden key with a ship’s wheel.
23. Staircase
Tip: To eat a dragonfly, first create a web near it. Then tackle the dragonfly onto the web and devour it quickly before it flies away.
Observations: A painting on the wall of CK Bryce and his parrot. CK pointing to a scythe & hammer symbol on the hearth. Shapes on the wallpaper where decorative pieces used to be displayed, but are missing.
Secret #10: Climb into the hole in the glass door of the china cabinet, on the upper left side. Go into the lower cabinet. Inside is a drawing of the manor exterior, with the bell tower illuminated.
24. Upstairs Hallway
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Observations: An inner hallway leading to a locked metal door, fastened with gears and bars.
25. Music Room
Observations: On the wall, a group photo of N, CK (with parrot) and R Bryce. Beside it, a photo of N Bryce departing on a ship, wearing a medal. On the piano, a metronome with the letter B on it (Bryce family).
Secret #11: Crawl through the back of the cello. Inside is a package from CK Bryce addressed to N Bryce, containing what looks to be a gear or a ship’s wheel.
26. Mouse Hole
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Walk around the perimeter of the whole area to light everything up. Jump on the plug to pull down the wire, opening up a passageway near the ceiling.
Walk around to discover more of the passageway and reach the second portal. Use this 2nd portal to enter a secret room (CK’s Study). If you use the first portal, you’ll be taken to the Bedroom instead of CK’s Study.
27. CK’s Study
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Hit the red button on the lamp to turn it on and attract the moths.
Observations: Taped to the wall, a diagram for the grandfather clock and the furnace switches. Two photos on the wall: one of N, CK and R (same as in the music room), one of a grey-haired lady (presumably BY Bryce). A map of an island, surrounded by photos of artifacts, one held by a young CK Bryce. Hanging under the map, a gun in its holster. On the table, a drawing of the manor. On the shelves, a rolled-up scroll or map, and a black book or journal tied with red ribbon. Around the room, more woodworking and mechanical tools.
Secret #12: Go under the desk and crawl into the right side. Inside the desk is a photo of N Bryce (the same one in the music room), a note scribbled with “N Bryce” on top, a pair of scissors, a spool of string, and measuring tape.
28. Bedroom
Observations: A piece of red ribbon on the floor. Ransacked drawers and an open suitcase with ladies’ clothing (in red, pink, and lilac). Atop the drawer, a neatly-written goodbye letter. On the shelf, a wedding photo with CK Bryce, L Stewart (the bride), and R Bryce (the groom).
Secret #13: Climb inside the drawers and up the wall. Behind the drawer’s top shelf is a secret compartment with the medal of N Bryce.
29. Bedroom Closet
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Hit the red/green switch on the wall to bring the butterflies out of the closet and towards the lamp.
Observations: An old sepia photo of a little girl and her parents. The parents are dressed in workclothes or in simple clothing. An empty closet, except for a single pink scarf and various bits of clothing scattered around, including a pair of red shoes.
30. Nursery
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Observations: On the wall, a colored shadow of the family seal from a stained glass window. The nursery is decorated in pink, with floral wallpaper and a diaper dispenser labeled “E”. The room looks like it has never been used.
31. Rose Window
Observations: The family seal, which we have seen all around the house: a ship’s wheel with a hammer and scythe.
32. Roof
Secret #14: Climb all the way to the top of the roof and weather vane. Go down towards the right side of the house. What looks like a bell tower contains a golden plaque with instructions on how to insert a wheel into the hearth. There is a hook for a key but the key is missing. Beneath the plaque is a red ribbon.
33. Attic
This is a new level in the Director’s Cut.
Jump on the lightbulb to turn it on and attract the moths.
Observations: A wedding dress, same as the dress in the wedding photo in the bedroom. A birdcage (the parrot’s, presumably) with a sketch inside, illustrating the steps to finding a key. First is a clock, then an furnace, then a fireplace, then finally the key.
Secret #15: Go to the globe and crawl down its left side. Enter the hole in the trunk. Inside are unopened gifts and infant toys, such as a teddy bear, a rattle, and a baby bottle.
34. Dining Room
Hit the light switch on the wall to toggle the chandelier on/off.
Observations: On the wall, a painting of a ship in a storm. On the table, an unfinished meal and a broken cup, with red liquid dripping down the side of the table. A chair tipped over. A spoon on the floor.
Secret #16: Underneath the table is a wide-rimmed vase. Inside it is a train ticket (or the front cover of a ticket) for N Bryce and LS Bryce.
35. Living Room
Observations: A bottle of booze and a white pill on the floor. A corpse on a chair, its decomposing hand wearing a wedding ring. Below it, a photo of LS. This seems to be the other half of the torn photo in the pantry (of N Bryce). If the torn photo is pieced together, the couple appears to be holding hands.
Secret #17: Crawl into the side table (through the hole between the vase and the lamp). Inside the table is a bottle of pills.
36. Hearth
Observations: The chair shows the top of a head, with brown hair. A red urn on top of the hearth, seen also in the mirror.
Walk up and around the window sill to the right side, facing the fireplace. Jump on the ship’s wheel. If you have completed all the required steps (in the foyer and basement levels), the wheel will plug into the hearth, revealing a keyhole. If you’re not able to push the wheel in, you’ll need to go back to those 2 levels and follow the instructions.
Once the keyhole is revealed, enter it and walk all the way down to the portal. Use this portal to enter the secret Treasure Room. If you use the other portal (under the window), you’ll be taken to the last level instead of the Treasure Room.
37. Treasure Room
Observations: A treasure trove of gold artifacts. A golden plate with a drawing of a ship (this seems to be the missing plate from the Staircase level). A mounted stuffed parrot. The Bryce family seal on the wall.
38. Manor Gate
