Looking for a Sons of the Forest rope guide? Look no further! Our guide contains all you need to know about where you can find rope, and what it can be used for. Keep in mind that there are 2 different types of rope, but not to worry, we’ve included information regarding each!

In Sons of the Forest, you’re given the task to find a missing billionaire on an eerily remote island. In true horror style, you’re surrounded by cannibalistic creatures throughout this environment. It’s up to you to survive this hellish island and complete your original task. You need to craft, build, and fight off danger at every turn.

The fantastic thing about Sons of the Forest is that your choice of play style is entirely up to you. You’re free to explore wherever you want, and you can do whatever you want! The game even features an immersive seasonal system, where certain food and resources only show up during specific times of the year.

For more information about the game, visit the official Steam page! For more Sons of the Forest content, take a look at our Sons of the Forest shovel guide and our Sons of the Forest water guide. If you’re on the hunt for something new to play, check out our guide for Atomic Heart weapons.

Sons of the Forest Rope Guide

Now, let’s move on to the guide!

Rope Locations

While there are lots of important resources and items in Sons of the Forest, you should make sure that you have a steady supply of rope at all times – you never know when you might need it!

There are 2 types of rope in Sons of the Forest:

  • Normal rope – coil symbol
  • Zipline rope – a figure of eight symbol

Crash Site and Camps

You can find rope in the original crash site, as well as enemy camps. Make sure you check everywhere in these locations and open up any suitcases or containers that you find. You can often find pieces of rope by large piles of debris too.

Caves

As you explore the island, you’ll often come across a plethora of caves. These caves are worth heading into, as they contain a lot of items and resources that you need – including rope.

Beaches and Water

You can also find rope at the beaches throughout the game, and next to bodies of water. You can find pieces of rope next to debris, shipwrecks, and rocks!

Cliffs

If you’re afraid of heights, this one may be a bit of a tricky one! You need to walk to the edge of a cliff to find a variety of useful items, which can often include rope.

What Do I Need Rope For?

You can use rope in your crafting recipes! Zipline rope and normal rope are a requirement in plenty of recipes separately, though there are some that need both types together. You can also use Zipline rope with the Rope Gun – a handy tool!

We’re not too sure just yet if we can actually craft rope in the game, but we’ll update this guide as soon as we find out!
