In Sons of the Forest, you’re given the task to find a missing billionaire on an eerily remote island. In true horror style, you’re surrounded by cannibalistic creatures throughout this environment. It’s up to you to survive this hellish island and complete your original task. You need to craft, build, and fight off danger at every turn.
The fantastic thing about Sons of the Forest is that your choice of play style is entirely up to you. You’re free to explore wherever you want, and you can do whatever you want! The game even features an immersive seasonal system, where certain food and resources only show up during specific times of the year.

Now, let’s move on to the guide!
Firstly, you need to gather a certain amount of resources to craft in the first place! Make sure you loot suitcases, chests, and crates to find a plethora of items. You can open your inventory and use “combine” to start crafting! You can also use the Guide Book in your inventory to start quick crafting.
The crafting guidebook is a must when you start gathering resources. It allows you to craft recipes quickly while you’re on the go.
When you’ve collected the correct reagents and resources, you can unlock a recipe simply by crafting! Picking up items can also unlock random recipes, for example, a torch. You can also find blueprints as you explore the island, but these are a lot harder to obtain.
We recommend picking up any blueprint that you see as you wander around. If there’s a specific recipe you need, then you should focus on finding that as soon as possible!
