Slap Kings, from Gameguru, is currently racking up massive download numbers on the App Store. It’s a game, as you might be able to tell from the name, about slapping people in the face.

It’s not the most in-depth experience you can get on your phone, but there are a few tips and tricks we’ve spotted that are going to make sure you become slap champion. And, since we like you, we’ve included all of them in this here article.

If you’ve not played Slap Kings yet, you can grab it from the App Store by clicking here, or from the Google Play Store by clicking here. Once you’ve done that, read on to make sure your slaps land the hardest.

How to Slap

It’s pretty easy to smack your opponent in the face, but the key here is making sure you’re performing the most powerful slap that you can. Every time it’s your turn to attack, you’ll see a bar appear above your enemies head – your goal is to stop a needle as close to the centre of the bar as you can.

The deeper you get into the game, the faster the moving dial becomes, so getting your eye in early is going to set you in good stead for what’s to come. You’re going to want to be stopping the needle in the green section of the dial, otherwise you’re going to find yourself in a lot of trouble.

When it comes to getting slapped back, you don’t have much option other than just standing there and taking it. There’s a mask you can put on, but it requires watching a video, and as you’re going to see in the next section, you’re going to be doing a lot of that already.

Get More Powerful

There are two stats in the game – your health and your slap power. Upping these is the key to succeeding, and you do that with the gold you get from victories. You’ll get a few coins after winning a bout, but the further you get into the game, the fewer upgrades you’re going to be able to afford.

If you really want to become the ruler of slaps, you’re going to have to watch a video every time you win. This gives you five times more coins, and means you’re always going to be ahead of your opponents.

It doesn’t make for the most entertaining experience, but popping your phone down for 30 seconds after every match while an advert rolls is going to ensure that you’re always in with a really good chance of winning the next fight.

Helmet and Gloves

During a bout you’re given the option to strap on a helmet or a pair of gloves by watching a video. The helmet protects you from the worst of your opponent’s attack, but just for one slap.

The gloves make your own attacks that much stronger, but again, only for a single round. In all honesty, it’s not worth using these. If you’re struggling with a level then by all means give them a go, but if you’re following the instructions above that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Bonus Levels

In bonus levels you get three uncontested slaps to try and break down whatever object the game dangles in front of you. It should be pretty obvious from the first slap whether or not you’re going to succeed, but if it looks like you’re not going to make it, feel free to power-up your smacks by watching a video.

Costumes

The extra costumes you unlock don’t seem to change the game in any way. Still, if you want to look cooler while you make your way to the pinnacle of your slap game, it’s worth watching a video to unlock them when you’re offered.
