Ski Resort Mogul – Game Introduction

Welcome to the Ski Resort Mogul walkthrough on Gamezebo. Ski Resort Mogul is a building simulation played on PC created by Alawar. This walkthrough includes tips and tricks, helpful hints, and a strategy guide to how to complete Ski Resort Mogul.

General Tips

• You should always rescue guests when possible, the additional money comes in handy and can make the difference to beat the level in gold time. Especially in the beginning of each level even a small amount of money might help you to progress much quicker.
• In contrast to similar games, you still earn income from buildings that are currently upgraded. However, if buildings get damaged you won’t get any income from then until they are fixed.
• You will only earn income from hotels when the guests have arrived, not immediately when the construction is finished.
• You should only build hotels on premium lots. Every other type of building would cost you worthwhile money.
• There are three types of buildings: Hotels, which provide you with income depending on the number of guests; buildings that will attract guests, which are required to make your hotels profitable at all; finally there are shops, whose income depends on how many guests are in their reach. You can increase the range of shops by upgrading them.
• It’s always helpful to build shops in the centre of as many hotels as possible to maximize the profit.
• You should try to avoid constructing buildings on lots that do not match their size. It’s a waste of space, and most levels are designed in a way that nearly every building you need has to be placed on a conforming lot.

Bonus buildings

• The school for workers will be built after the third level, it’s included in the tutorial. Your workers will work faster then.
• I constructed the brick plant after the tenth level, which enables the player to buy 300 materials for $6,000.
• I enhanced the headquarters after the 11th level, which adds $5,000 to your balance at the beginning of each level.
• I enhanced the brick plant after the twelfth level, which makes the delivery of bricks faster.
• After the 16th level I enhanced the headquarters again, which adds two guests to the line at the beginning of each level.
• I enhanced the headquarters again after the 18th level, to earn a 3 seconds-bonus for every level.
• I upgraded the training center after the 20th level, which makes workers finish upgrades quicker.
• I enhanced the brick plant another time after the 22nd level, so that large batches of bricks cost less.
• After the 26th level I enhanced the training center, which enables workers to finish construction faster.
• After the 28th level I enhanced the ad agency.
• After the 29th level I enhanced the ad agency again.
• After the 32nd level I enhanced the ad agency. This was the last bonus building upgrade.

Walkthrough – Levels 1 – 10

• The first three levels only serve as a tutorial. Just follow Aunt Sue’s instructions and you will be fine.
• Some levels can only be played when you purchase upgrades for specific buildings. This is the case when a marker for a level is grey instead of blue. Just click this grey marker and an arrow will point out which upgrade you have to acquire.
• Some levels can only be beaten in gold time when you have constructed or enhanced some of the bonus buildings. This information will be added for the appropriate levels in this walkthrough. It will also be mentioned after which levels certain bonus buildings or enhancements have been purchased.
• You may have to replay earlier levels in order to earn the required amount of bonus points.

Level 4 – Goals: Five 2-star Cabins, two 3-star Tea Rooms, weekly income of $12,000.

1. Build two cabins next to you already existing tea room.
2. Build a pavilion.
3. Build a tea room.
4. Build a cabin.
5. Build two pavilions.
6. Buy two empty lots. Alternatively you can also buy two cabins.
7. Build 2 more cabins, in case you only have acquired the empty lots.
8. Upgrade both tea rooms to 3 stars.
9. Upgrade 5 cabins to 3 stars simultaneously.
10. Buy a pavilion and a cabin to reach the required weekly income.

Level 5 – Goals: Check in 10 guests, buy the Ski Lift, own five 2-star Cabins.

1. To purchase the ski lift you need 3 workers and $25,000.
2. Build 2 cabins on the right-hand side of the ski lift.
3. Buy the tea room on the right-hand side of the ski lift.
4. Upgrade 3 cabins to 2 stars.
5. Purchase the cabin on the right-hand side of the ski lift when possible.
6. Purchase the empty lot right above your tea room when possible.
7. Build another cabin on the left-hand side of the ski lift.
8. Upgrade 2 more cabins to 2 stars.
9. Train a worker.
10. Save the required amount of money and buy the ski lift, which will add four more guests to your line.
11. Build 2 cottages.
12. Buy an empty 3×3-lot.
13. Build a pavilion and a cabin.

Level 6 – Goals: Weekly income of $24,000, own 4 cottages, own four 3-star cabins.

1. Build a cabin and a tea room as shown in the screenshot below.
   
2. Buy 2 empty 3×3-lots quickly.
3. Upgrade 2 cabins to 3 stars.
4. Build 2 more cabins and upgrade those to 3 stars, too.
5. Train a worker.
6. Build 2 cottages.
7. Build a second tea room.
8. Buy a cottage and two 4×4-lots.
9. Build 5 pavilions.
10. Buy two pavilions and the 2-star cabin.
11. Build a cottage.
12. Hint: If you can manage the steps 6 to 11 rather quickly and simultaneously, you can beat this level in gold time without any additional bonus buildings and enhancements. If not, return to this level later on when you have the +30 seconds-bonus.

Level 7 – Goals: Weekly income of $18,500, own two 3-star tea rooms, own three 1-star cottages.

1. You need to purchase the first star-upgrade for cottages to play this level.
2. Build a cabin above your tea room.
3. Build a cottage on your 4×4-lot.
4. Buy the second empty 4×4-lot as soon as possible.
5. Buy the second tea room.
6. Build 4 pavilions.
7. Build a cottage.
8. Upgrade both cottages to 1 star.
9. Buy a cottage.
10. Upgrade this cottage to 1 star, too.
11. Upgrade both tea rooms to 3 stars.
12. Buy 2 pavilions.

15. TIP: This level is very recommendable for replaying to earn bonus points, since it’s rather easy and short, but offers a higher reward than the tutorial levels.

Level 8 – Goals: Check in 14 guests, own four 1-star cottages, own 2 equipment rents.

4. Build a cottage.
5. Upgrade tea room to 1 star.
6. Build two cabins.
7. Upgrade all of your buildings to 3 stars.
8. Buy the café.
9. Upgrade café to 1 star.
10. Buy the 4×4-lot near the café.
11. Build a cottage and two cabins next to the café.

Level 20 – Goals: Own two 3-star hotels, own one 2-star deluxe hotel, buy the ski run.

1. You need the second star upgrade for the deluxe hotel to play this level.
2. You need $45,000 and 5 workers to buy the ski run. The ski run will add 6 guests to your line.
3. Build two cabins on the premium lots and a tea room.
4. Build a second hotel on the premium lot.
5. Upgrade both hotels to 3 stars.
6. Sell both hotels.
7. Train a worker.
8. Build a deluxe hotel.
9. Upgrade the deluxe hotel to 2 stars.
10. Buy the ski run.
11. TIP: This is another level worth replaying, since you can finish it rather quickly with an easy enough strategy and earn a lot of bonus points.
12. I enhanced the Training Center after this level, so that upgrades are finished faster.

Level 21 – Goals: Own one 2-star deluxe hotel, own six 3-star cabins, own a ski school.

1. You need the second star upgrade for the skating rink to play this level.
