GAME OVERVIEW

• At the beginning of the game you will be asked to make one of three choices. You can play the game in  untimed mode, normal mode or in hard mode. Here’s a brief description of each:

UNTIMED

• If you choose this mode you will be able to take your time and play the game at your leisure without the pressure of a timer. The level will end once you meet the monetary goal.

NORMAL

• In normal mode you have to reach the goal before the timer runs out. If you fail to reach the goal before timer runs out you will have to start the level over. The monetary goal in this mode is moderate, so reaching the goal should not be hard to do.

HARD

• In hard mode you have to make a larger monetary goal in a shorter amount of time than if you were playing in normal mode. The monetary goal in this level is almost twice as much than in the other 2 modes.
• It may be best to play this mode once you’ve played one of the other 2 modes because by then you will be more familiar with the objects in each scene.

LEVELS

• Each level is divided into 3 scenes. Each scene will have a different theme. You must complete all 3 scenes and a mini game in order to move to another level.
• A level in a scene will end once you reach your sales goal. It doesn’t matter if people are still in the store, if you reach your goal for the day, the level will end.

IDENTIFYING OBJECTS

• The scenes in this game can be quite cluttered, if you have a hard time recognizing the items on the shelves, just click on them and you will be able to get a better view of what any item looks like. As soon as you click on an item, it is isolated and highlighted on  the screen, which gives you time to look at it in its entirety.
• If you’re still not sure what an item is, try to give it to one of the customers, you will be able to read the name of the item in that customer’s speech bubble. If that item does not belong to that customer, the customer will not accept it.

MAGNIFYING GLASSES/ HINTS/SUPER HINTS

• Look for the magnifying glasses that are hidden in each scene and you will earn an extra hint. Each scene contains between 3 and 4 magnifying glasses. In order to use a hint, click on the hint button in the lower right corner. Then click on any item that is in a customer’s thought bubble and the game will show you the location of the item you chose.
• If you have  the maximum amount of magnifying glasses in your inventory and you find an extra one, the extra one will count as money towards your goal, $30 each to be exact. You cannot hold more than 5 magnifying glasses total in your inventory.
• The game also has a built in hint system, if you’re taking too long to find an item, you will see an item that you need sparkle in the scene. When you see that, take it to the customer that is requesting it.

SUPER HINTS

• Super Hints are hints that when used will show you up to 3 items at once that a customer is requesting.
• Click on the super hint in the lower right corner and then click on the customer that you would like to find the objects for. The game will highlight 3 of the items that customer is asking for.
• The super hint will only highlight up to 3 items at one time and it will only highlight items for one customer of your choosing. If the customer that you chose has less than 3 items on their list, then the game will only highlight the amount of items listed.
• The items will remain highlighted until you find them all and hand them to the right customer.
• If you have 5 Super Hints in in inventory and you solve an ‘additional objective’ you will gain an extra 100 points. Those extra points can really come in handy when you’re trying to reach your goal.
• You will not earn extra cash when you earn a super hint once you’ve completed a mini game. If your inventory is full at that time, that super hint will be lost since you’re only allowed to have a maximum of 5 at a time.

YELLOW PRICE TAGS

• Find the yellow price tags in the scene and place them on a specific customer in order to earn twice the amount of money. You will not receive double the amount until you’ve found all the items  for that customer.
• The yellow tags do not have to be given to a specific customer before you fill their order, it can be given after you started. The tag will still double the sale as long as you hand it to the customer before you complete the last item in their order. For example, you’ve given a customer 2 out of 3 items on their list, hand them the tag before you give them the final item and that sale will be doubled.
• Make sure that you only place the tags on the people who have very high ticket items. The amount of their items should add to more than the combined items of the other players. I noticed that in most levels, the people with the highest ticket items show up towards the end of a level.

ADDITIONAL OBJECTIVES

• At the beginning of certain levels your assistant will come in and ask you to help her find certain items  that are scattered throughout the store.
• Your assistant shows you what the item looks like at the bottom of the page. She  will also give you many examples of different shapes, sizes and colors that item may have.
• After you’ve seen the list the game will have a green arrow that points to the spot in which you’re supposed to place the items. That section will also sparkle indicating where the location is.
• You will have one minute to look for the items that she is requesting. If you bring her those items in time, you will receive a super hint, which allows you to look for 3 items at a time.
• If you fail to bring those items within the one minute time period, you will still be able to look for them as you complete that scene. If you find the items before the round ends you will receive an extra hint instead of a super hint.
• You can look at the bottom of the page to see how many more objects are left to find. That part is labeled "Additional Objective."
• Pay attention to the items that are shown as examples at the bottom of the page because those are the exact items that you must search for in the scene. This tip will be particularly helpful in the scenes in which you need to look for several items that are in the same category but do not look alike. For example, in one level you were asked to look for prehistoric animals, if you’re unsure of what they look like you can just look at the bottom of the page for an exact image of what you’re looking for.

SPECIAL CUSTOMERS

• There 10 types of customers in this game but only 4 "Special Customers." These Special Customers will have a different way of shopping when they come into your establishment.

PHOTOGRAPHER

• When he comes in he will show you an actual picture of what he is looking for in his thought bubble.
•  It is really easy to take care of this customer because once you see the picture of what he is looking for it makes it easier to look for it in the scene.
• You can never see how much his items are worth since all you see is a picture of it. He always asks for just one item when he comes in so it is better to take care of people with several items first.

BUSINESS MAN

• When he comes in all you will see is his thought bubble with some lines going through it, those lines mean that he is waiting for you to take care of him before he orders.
• He is always in a rush when he comes into your department, make sure that you take care of him as quickly as possible. If you take care of him quickly you will earn an extra $10. If you make him wait too long he will get mad and leave.

RICH MAN

• When he comes in all you will see is his thought bubble with some lines going through it, those lines mean that he is waiting for you to take care of him before he orders.
• Once you click on his bubble you will see the items that he is looking for. He always asks for 4 or 5 of the same type of items, which really makes it easier to find the objects he wants.
• You have to hand him the items before the clock on his speech bubble gets full, otherwise, he will leave with nothing.

RIDDLE AUNT

• She will come into the store and request a list of ingredients by telling you what she needs them for instead of giving you an actual list. For example, she will tell you that she needs to make a pumpkin pie, it is up to you to figure the ingredients and equipment needed to make the pie. 
• You cannot repeat the same ingredient twice, if you do, she will reject it right away. If you have a hard time figuring out what the riddle aunt wants, then use a super hint since it will show you up to 3 of her items in one sitting.

MINI GAMES

• There are several mini games in Shop-n-Spree. Each mini game will show up after you’ve played three scenes. The types of games you get will vary, we have a brief description of each mini game in the section below.
• Completing the mini games will either earn you a hint or a super hint. In order to win a hint you have to earn at least  8 check marks at the bottom of the page. In order to earn a super hint you must complete the mini game with 10 check marks at the bottom of the page.
• For each super hint that you earn, you will also earn an extra star. Earn 3 stars and you will unlock a new mini game which you will be able to play at anytime from the main menu.
• If you don’t feel like playing a mini game you have the option to skip the game. You will not be penalized for doing so but you will also not receive the chance to earn extra hints.

RESTOCK THE DEPARTMENT

• You will be given 2 side by side scenes, your goal is to put the items back in their place.  The scene on the left will have everything in order, the scene on the right will have some items missing.
• Grab the items that are at the bottom of the page and place them where they belong on the right side of the page. Keep in mind that not all items will be used, some items are just placed there to confuse you.

PRODUCT MATCH

• In this mini game you have to match 2 of the same items in the scene until you’ve matched them all up. You will have several items on the page, you must match all of them before the timer runs out.

FIND THE PAIR

• The goal in this game is to find 2 items that match on the page. Once you’ve found 2 matching items you will be given another page in which you need to do the same thing but with different items.

SWAPPED PRODUCTS

• You will be shown one main item in a scene and then the game will show you several other items at the bottom of the page along with the image that you must look for.
• The trick is that all the items will be covered up and then mixed up with each other. You must follow the piece you need without losing sight of it.
• Once the pieces stop moving click on the square that you think contains your item. If you’re correct you will receive a check mark. Get at least 8 check marks and receive an extra hint, receive 10 check marks and you receive a super hint and a star.

FIND THE DIFFERENCES

• This is your run of the mill find the differences puzzle. You will have 2similar  pictures on the scene, it is up to you to find what items are missing from each scene. When you click on the right item,  you will get a green check mark.

WAREHOUSE SEARCH

• You will be given the names of several items on the page, these names will only remain on the page for a few seconds. Once the list goes away you have to remember what you were looking for, click on the items you think are correct.

IMAGE SWAP

• You have a jumbled picture on top of the page, in the lower right side of the page you have a small picture of what the picture should look like. You have to recreate the picture by swapping the squares around.
• In order to swap the pictures, pick up any square and drag it to any square of your choice and both squares will swap places.

STRATEGY AND GENERAL TIPS

• Try to keep your magnifying glass inventory full at all times (5 is the max) and then click on the extra magnifying glasses in the scene even if you are at capacity. You earn $30 for each additional magnifying glass that you find after your inventory is full.
• If your super hints inventory is full (5 max) and you complete an ‘additional objective’ in under a minute then that extra super hint will be converted into an extra $100 that goes into your total for that day. In addition to that, you also earn extra money for all the items that you found while doing the ‘additional objective’
• If you want to reach your goals faster, then take care of the customers that ask for more expensive items first.This will help you get to your goal in a shorter amount of time.
• Find the yellow price tags in the scene and attach them to a customer that has at least 3 expensive items in their order and you will double the amount of that sale. I find that most customers that want expensive items tend to come in later on in the level so it is a good idea to hold on to the yellow tags until after you’ve served a few customers first.
• Most customers will come in and wait for you to take care of them and they will never lose patience. However, there are other customers that come in that must be taken care of before the timer in their speech bubble fills up. Take care of the customers that have timers first since you do not want them to leave without purchasing anything.
• Once in a while an object that you need will sparkle in the scene. This usually happens when you’ve been idle for too long, it is the games way of helping you out when it thinks you’re stuck.
• If the customer does not ask you for an item in a specific color then you can pick up that item in any color that is available. However, if the customer specifically asks you for an item in a specific color you can only hand the customer that item in that color.
• You will earn extra points when you find all the items on the list for one customer. Instead of filling orders for all the customers all at once, concentrate on one customer at a time. You will receive an added bonus when you fill orders this way.
• There are 2 ways to hand a customer something they ordered. You can drag the item to them or you can click on an item and then click on the person that it belongs to. Use whatever method works best for you. I would sometimes mix both ways of doing it during a level.

SPOILER!!!! SOLUTIONS TO SOME OF THE MINI GAMES AND PUZZLE IN SHOP-N SPREE

• This section contains solutions to many of the mini games and special tasks in the game. I gave solutions to all the riddles and the ‘additional objectives’ that I encountered while playing this game.
• I noticed that some of the riddles repeated themselves in the game so even if you didn’t get a riddle during a particular round you may get it once you revisit that location.
• I also added some solutions to some of the other mini games in Shop-n-Spree but not all of them. The ones I thought were self-explanatory I did not add them to this strategy guide at all.
• Please stop reading now if you would rather not know some of these solutions.

RESTOCK-CAMPING AND GARDENING

FIND 5 MISSING CANDLES-ADDITIONAL OBJECTIVE

• Find the missing candles and place them on the candle holder before 1 minutes is up. If you get them all under a minute you will receive a Super Hint.
• If you miss the one minute deadline you can continue to search for the candles while you have time on the clock. If you find it before time runs out you will get a regular hint.
