Best Way to Shiny Hunt Starters in Tales of Tanorio

Shiny hunting has been a term used for years in the Pokemon community. It’s no secret that Tales of Tanorio takes a lot of inspiration from the world-famous franchise, so a shiny hunting feature is to be expected!

Shiny Starters

Firstly, you need to know what to look for! In terms of the starter Shiny forms, Chewaqua changes from blue to purple, Rabush changes from green to pink, and Charcile’s red body turns into more of a burgundy shade, with the front of its body changing from yellow to white (as well as its crown!).

How to Shiny Hunt Starters

Shiny hunting the starter Tanorians is slightly different than you’d expect. A Shiny version of Rabush, Charcile, and Chewaqua can appear during the initial cutscene in the Tanaku Research Corporation building.

The cutscene introduces you to each starter, and if they match the descriptions in the section above, it’s a Shiny! Even if it isn’t the Shiny you want, I recommend going for it as it’s a rare find. You can always get the other 2 starters another time – check out our How to Get All Starters in Tales of Tanorio guide for more information!

If a Shiny didn’t appear during the cutscene, it’s time to quit the game and load it back up again. Yes, it’s tedious. If you really want a Shiny starter, you need to repeat the process until a Shiny appears.

What is Shiny Hunting?

If you’ve never participated in shiny hunting while playing a Pokemon game, it’s essentially a ‘needle in a haystack’ situation. Shinies are incredibly rare to find, but they’re certainly a flex when you eventually obtain one. Plus, they look cool! The same goes for Tanorians in Tales of Tanorio, a Shiny’s appearance features a recolour of its original design.
