Game Introduction – Shadow Fight 2

Shadow Fight 2 is a fighting game with some RPG elements created by Nekki. Despite the intangible nature of its shadowy combatants they can all pack a mean punch, so you’ll want to be prepared before squaring off with them in the ring. Quick Start Guide

Shadow Fight 2

Getting Started

  • Don’t have Shadow Fight 2 installed yet? Well just click on the “Play Now!” button at the top of the page to get started.
  • Try to make sure you have access to the internet when you first start it up as it’ll probably need to download some additional data.
  • Also note that there’s no option to completely disable Push Notifications from within the game, so if you want it to leave you alone you’re going to have to go into your device’s settings and take care of it manually.
  • Once you’ve gone through the extremely brief tutorial you’ll be ready to combat the forces of evil – although I’d suggest going back to the Dojo to practice a bit first.

Interface

  • Stars – equates to your current level and displays how much experience is needed until you reach the next one. Higher levels unlock better gear in the store.
  • Energy – the number of times you can fight before being forced to stop – or pay premium currency to recharge. It costs one unit of energy per fight, and will take ten minutes to refill one.
  • Coins – currency needed to buy and upgrade most gear in the shop. You earn more by fighting.
  • Gems – premium currency required to purchase or upgrade some items. Can be earned by completing achievements.
  • “+” – opens the in-app purchase portion of the shop where you can buy more gems and coins.
  • Menu – calls up a list of other pages to visit.

  • The Dojo is where you may play around with the various moves your fighter can perform, without worrying about your opponent (a punching bag) fighting back.
  • The Map will display the various places you can visit in order to fight. Tournaments feature a steady progression of increasingly tough opponents, Survival pits you against a stream of enemies with a health bar that only refills slightly between rounds, Duel allows you to fight an opponent using a random set of equipment once every four hours (it pays well is why), and named enemies indicate demons that you’ll have to fight your way to. Each demon has a bunch of henchmen guarding it, so you’r going to have to steadily earn better and better gear if you’re going to have a shot.
  • The Blacksmith’s Shop is where you can buy and upgrade your weapons, armor, and eventually magic.
  • Your Profile displays your fighter’s stats, skill tree, available moves, and achievements.
  • Settings includes options such as language selection, Facebook integration, volume control, credits, etc.

Tips and Strategies

Shadow Fight 2
  • Your fighter’s moves will vary depending on the weapon you have equipped, so consider stepping into the Dojo once you buy a new one in order to familiarize yourself with it.
  • Positioning and timing are key. Shadow Fight 2 might not be as speedy as other fighting games, but it’s still plenty strategic. The last thing you want to do is flail around randomly and leave yourself wide open to a counterattack.
  • Fight in Tournaments to earn more coins before you try to take on any demonic henchmen. They’re not pushovers.
  • When the Tournaments get too tough, go for Survival. It probably won’t earn you as much, but it’s better to nab 50-100 coins in one Survival run than to get in over your head in a Tournament and waste the energy on maybe 10 coins.
  • Upgrade your gear when you can. Chances are you won’t be able to afford the next piece of equipment on the list for a while because it will require a higher level, so why not spend those coins on improving what you’ve already got and giving you a better shot at earning even more cash?

  • Be patient. Like I’ve mentioned, positioning and timing are extremely important here, so try to wait for your opponent to leave themselves open if you can.
  • Duels are a great way to practice with weapons you otherwise won’t have access to for a while. Use the opportunity to learn what you can. It may also give you an idea of what types of weapons you should be saving up for.
  • Remember to use evasive maneuvers. You can certainly take a knock when you come out of a roll or a backflip, but you’re relatively safe during the initial animation. If your opponent keeps putting pressure on you, and it’s working, try to give yourself some space.
  • Go into your character profile and look at your move list. It’s hidden away for some weird reason, but it can be extremely helpful. Not only does it explain how to perform certain moves but it will also show you what those moves look like when performed correctly.
