Check out our strategy guide for Righteous Kill 2: Revenge of the Poet Killer.

GENERAL TIPS

  • If you need a hint, just click on the police badge in the upper left corner. You have unlimited hints, but you’ll need to wait for the badge to recharge before you can use it again.
  • Starting with the Central Park scene in Case One, you can click on any item on the list to see its silhouette. If you’d rather go back to searching by name, just click the “List” button on the phone.
  • You can review your case files by pressing the “Cases” button on your phone.

WALKTHROUGH

  • Some of the items you need to find are random, so I haven’t circled those. What you’ll see circled are the key items that you need to use to solve puzzles in the scene, or that represent key pieces of evidence that Erica comments on.
  • Hotspots (areas that you can zoom in on) are marked by a square.
  • When you scroll the mouse over certain objects, it will turn into a magnifying glass. That means that these objects can be investigated more closely, if you can figure out which item to use on it.

PROLOGUE

NY Apartment

  • Key evidence: Note (below the dead man’s legs), watch and pipe (both on the table near the chess board).
  • Note evidence: After you click on the note, you’ll also be asked to find the picture (on the table near the watch), business card (under the portable phone on the armchair), and gun (in the fireplace – see solution below).
  • Inventory puzzle: the gun
  • Use the watering can on the fireplace to put out the fire.

  • Take the gun from the fireplace.

CASE ONE: TONY FILLIONE

Forensic Library

  • Take the 5 bottles, dusting brush, flashlight, and cotton swab. There will be a couple of additional items to find, but these are random.

Mini-game – Dusting for Fingerprints

  • Your goal is to dust the evidence you found in the apartment for fingerprints. Each item is made from a different material, so you need to choose the right kind of powder for each surface.
  • The green powder works on glass; the yellow powder works on wood; the purple powder works on paper; the turquoise powder works on metals; and the pink powder works on plastic.
  • If you’ve applied the wrong dust to an item, it will turn gray.
  • You can skip the mini-game by pressing the Skip button in the lower right.

Solution:

  • Use the purple powder (paper) on the business card to reveal two prints.
  • Use the green powder (glass) on the clock to reveal one print.
  • Use the yellow powder (wood) on the pipe to reveal two prints.

Central Park

  • NOTE: From now on, you have the ability to click on any item in the list to see its silhouette. You can also review the current case file by clicking on your phone’s “Cases” button.

  • Click on the note is in the pathway to the right of the park bench.
  • Key evidence: A package, a gun, an oriental fan

Central Park – Bench

  • Click on the faraway park bench on the right side of the screen to zoom in.
  • The package and the Oriental fan are here. Pick them both up. The key and notebook are here as well.

CASE TWO: UNKNOWN VICTIM

Chinatown Shop

  • Key evidence: Crowbar, 4 paper shreds, garbage bags, fan

Chinatown Shop – Manhole Cover

  • Click on the manhole cover in the lower right of the screen to zoom in. Use the crowbar from your inventory to pry it open.
  • Next, use the flashlight from your inventory to investigate, and take the strip of paper and umbrella.

Chinatown Shop – Garbage Bin

  • Next, click on the second hotspot, the garbage bin, to zoom in.
  • Use the flashlight again to illuminate the area. Take the two paper strips of paper inside.

Mini-Game: Fit the paper pieces together

  • The piece on the right is stuck in place, so try to fit your pieces around it, using that piece as an anchor.
  • To move a piece, click and drag it, then release the mouse button to set it down.
  • When two correct pieces are put side by side, they will snap into place.

Tony’s Warehouse

  • Key evidence: oriental fan

Tony’s Warehouse – Shelves

  • Click on the shelves on the left to zoom in.
  • Use the flashlight, and grab the key and the two anchors.

Tony’s Warehouse – Office

  • Zoom in on the office and collect the second Oriental fan, pen, and desktop calendar from the desk.

NY Apartment

  • See the screenshot below for the locations of the two hotspots in this scene.

NY Apartment – Patio

  • From the main room, click on the patio doors to zoom in.
  • Take the newspaper and the sandwich.

  • There are 8 differences to find between the four panels. See the screenshot below for the solution:

  • Start by clicking on the note. It will add key, shipping manifest, gun, and nightclub flier to your list of evidence to find.
  • Pick up the flyer in the lower left corner.

Pick up the shipping manifest and the key from the dashboard.
Use the cotton swab from your inventory on the blood stain on the steering wheel.

Mini-game: DNA Testing

  • Click and drag the colored balls along the bottom of the screen into the blank circles to complete the DNA strand. There are several possible solutions, but the goal is to fill in the DNA strand so that it matches one of the possible completed strands on the screen.
  • If you drag a ball into the right spot, you’ll hear a clicking sound. If a ball is put into the wrong place, you’ll hear a buzzing sound.
  • Here’s the solution that I got:

Central Park (nighttime)

  • Key items: cell phone

Central Park – Under the Bridge

  • Click on the area under the overpass near the soccer ball to zoom in.
  • Click on the padlock, wallet, newspaper, subway token and aluminum can

At this point, the identity of Case #2’s victim will be revealed as Mike Lee in your case file, although you’ll still technically be playing Case #4 in the game.

  • Start by clicking on the note next to the dead policeman. Three new pieces of evidence will be added to your list: business card, drugs, and taxi receipt.

CASE 5: STEVE CLARKS

Mini-game: Suspect composite sketch

  • Take a good, long look at the sketch of the suspect, because you’ll be asked to recreate it by choosing the right mouth, eyes, nose and hair.
  • I can’t give you a solution because the mouths, eyes, noses and hair are in different orders each time. But you can simply click on each one in turn until you find the right one.

East River Docks

  • Pick up the bolt cutters along the bottom of the screen, then select them from your inventory and use them on the locked shipping crate to zoom in.

  • Use the bolt cutters on the lock to cut the chain.

  • Pick up three guns and three fans from inside the crate.

  • Choose a bullet from a location, and bullet from one of the victims to place them under the magnifying glass. Click on the bullets to rotate them. If the bullets’ appearances match, click on the “Match” button.

Solutions:

  • Harbor – Mike Lee (the game gives you this solution as part of the mini-game tutorial).
  • Central Park – Tony Fillione (once both bullets are under the magnifying glass, click the left bullet twice, then click Match).

  • Click on the VIP guestbook.
  • You can also find the lily and ice cube here if they’re on your list.

CASE 7: MARTY SILLS

Mini-game: Hacker

  • You goal is to keep the red dot (the hacker) from reaching the edge of the screen. Click any of the hexagons to place an “Access Denied” block. Place enough of these to create a ring around the hacker and box him in.
  • I recommend starting by plugging all the holes around the perimeter. Take advantage of the Access Denied squares that are already there, and start placing more to connect them. Then you can gradually close in on the hacker. The game ends when you’ve confined the red dot so that it can no longer move.
  • Win two rounds of the game to advance.
