Rider is an endless driving/stunt/survival game from Monkeyfood Games and Ketchapp. As is pretty much always the case with arcade style one-touch mobile games, it’s very easy to control but super tough to play well. Gamezebo’s Rider tips, cheats and strategies will help to get you started, and hopefully keep you from crashing too terribly often. You’re still gonna crash, though.

Rider Tips, Cheats and Strategies

Crash Overdrive

  • Know when to NOT hold ‘em. The entirety of Rider’s control scheme is to tap and hold the screen – or not. You have to hold to accelerate and to flip, but sometimes you don’t want to do either. There will be times when it’s best to simply let go of the screen and trust everything to physics.
  • You’re not being timed. Distance and points are what matter here, not overall speed. If you have to decide between tearing through an obstacle quickly or taking your time to make sure you don’t crash, take your time.
Rider Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Don’t touch anything that isn’t glowing. Whether it’s the ground or bright red hazards, you’ll want to avoid contact. The only safe surfaces to drive on are those glowing neon pathways.
  • How you leave a jump matters. Depending on how you hit the edge of a ramp, your vehicle will start to tip backwards or forwards. Make sure to pay attention and take this tilting into account so that you can land safely (i.e. land on your wheels)
Rider Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Try to stick your landings perfectly. This requires a lot of finesse as you have to get all of your wheels to touch down at the same time, but it will net you bonus points if you can pull it off.
  • Sometimes you need to roll backwards. This could be because there are a bunch of gems sitting on the track behind you, or because you need a little extra road to get up to speed. Regardless, it’s okay to let up on the screen and let yourself roll backwards a bit.
  • Know your obstacles. Some involve platforms that fall as you drive over them, others are loops with shifting tracks that shift as you go through. Getting used to how each performs will make it much easier to plan your inevitable landings.
Rider Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • If you’re having trouble, try to stick with a single visual theme. You unlock new themes as you play, and they’re enabled by default, which means you’ll get a random theme every time you start a new game. If you’re finding it tough to remember what obstacles do what, consider going into the options and disabling all but one of the themes so that you can get used to the color-coding.
  • Keep an eye out for letters. As you play you’ll start to see letters that spell out “RIDER.” You don’t have to collect them all in a single run, but try to grab them whenever you see them because completing the word will get you 200+ gems.
Rider Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Check your challenges. Completing these tasks (displayed at the bottom of the main menu screen) will earn you extra gems and help you with unlocking new vehicles a bit faster.
  • Spend gems to unlock new vehicles. The goalposts keep moving, so it costs more each time, but it’s the only way to get new rides.
  • Not all bikes are created equal. The weight and spin speed does differ between them, to the point where I feel the default is actually the best choice. My first Epic unlock turned out to be so light and fast at spinning it actually made getting through simple obstacles SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult.
