Manuals give you a boost in a certain area of gameplay, and depending on the manual will determine the increase. You can get every type of Manual from boss drops, with each having its own boss.
As the name implies, this is the most basic one available. You can get it from a boss drop once you defeat the Bandit. It only has a 1.5% chance to drop, which is very slim! Once you use this manual, you’ll get a x2 Qi buff.
A slightly better version than the Basic Manual. With this, you get a x3 Qi boost. If you want to get this Manual for yourself, you’ll need to defeat the Forest Enemy, as it has a slim 1.5% chance to drop.
There seems to be a pattern, as each Manual gets slightly better as we go on. The Qi Circulation Manual gives a x4 Qi boost, and you can get it by defeating the Cave Enemy. As with the others, you only have a slim 1.5% chance of obtaining this. Be prepared to battle this enemy a few times until you’re lucky enough to get it.
This Manual, following the pattern, increases Qi by x5. You can get this by defeating the Island Enemy, as it has a 1.5% chance to drop.
This Manual is arguably the best available, as it gives a x7 increase in Qi. If you want to get it for yourself, you need to defeat the Volcano Enemy. It has a 1.5% chance to drop.
