Once you’ve put your finger on the screen, you shouldn’t take it off until you get to the end of the race. There’s no need to worry about boring things like braking, just keep your pedal (finger) to the metal (screen) and you’ll do just fine.
Technically the game will handle all of the corners for you. What you’re really doing when you’re moving your finger around the screen is dodging the obstacles and other vehicles that are getting in your way.
