In a recent update, Niantic have announced something very exciting: starting from the 16th, we now have more than just damage-dealing moves in Pokémon GO, starting with 3 already existing Charge Moves. These moves are Ancient Power, Silver Wind, and Ominous Wind. Just like in the main like Pokémon games, these moves deal damage AND have a chance of raising your pokémon’s stats. However, it seems like this will only taking effect during Trainer Battles. Niantic says this is just the beginning, so who knows what else we’ll get? But for now, focus on teaching these moves to your party!

If you were active enough during the Swinub Community Day that just finished up, chances are you have a Mamoswine that already knows Ancient Power. If you don’t, not to worry. Here’s the full list of pokémon that can learn the stat-boosting Charge moves:

Ancient Power

  • Aerodactyl
  • Anorith
  • Bayleef
  • Cranidos
  • Exeggcute
  • Giratina
  • Kabutops
  • Lileep
  • Mamoswine
  • Mew
  • Omanyte
  • Pupitar
  • Rayquaza
  • Relicanth
  • Shieldon
  • Togekiss
  • Tangrowth
  • Yanmega

Silver Wind

  • Dustox
  • Ledian
  • Lumineon
  • Illumise
  • Masquerain
  • Venomoth
  • Yanma

Ominous Wind

  • Drifblim
  • Dusknoir
  • Masquerain
  • Misdreavus
  • Spiritomb

Bear in mind that some of these Pokémon can’t be caught in the wild, and will have to be obtained in a raid or through research tasks. Once you get your hands on these pokémon, they may already know the stat-boosting moves as their Charge Move. But if they don’t, you can easily change their Charge Move with a TM.

If it's not about video games, Edith doesn't care about it. She loves adventures and RPGs, her weakness is arcade fighters, and her favourite pokemon is Mr Mime... no, seriously.
