Over the last few weeks, Pokemon GO has gone to the dogs. Or at least the Legendary Pokemon Entei, Suicune and Raikou, who are all dogs of different kinds.

Back at the end of August, Niantic rolled out the three latest Legendaries, making them available in different regions of the world. Raikou popped up in North and South America, Entei made a debut in Europe and Africa, and Suicune could be found in the Asia-Pacific region.

They’ve since rotated and can be found in the following regions:

  • Entei: North and South America
  • Suicune: Europe and Africa
  • Raikou: Asia-Pacific

They will remain in these regions until the end of the month, and for November, they will rotate to the final region they haven’t been to yet: Asia-Pacific for Entei, the Americas for Suicune and Europe and Africa Raikou. After November, they will disappear from Pokemon GO, probably not forever, but at least for a while.

As with previous Legendary Pokemon, the dog trio can only be found in special Raid Battles that are tougher than usual. All of our previous tips on catching Legendaries therefore apply, but here are some extra tips to keep in mind.

Entei

Since Entei is a Fire-type, you’ll want to use your best Ground, Water and Rock-type Pokemon since they will all do extra damage. In addition, Golem and Rhydon will take less damage from Entei’s Fire attacks so they should be at the top of your list if you have them.

Raikou

An Electric-type Pokemon, Raikou does reduced damage to Ground, Dragon, Electric and Grass-type Pokemon. Still, the way to go is Ground Pokemon if you’ve got good ones: Golem and Rhydon, again, along with Donphan and Sandslash.

Suicune

Alas, you’ll have to keep Golem and Rhydon away from Suicune, the first Water-type Legendary to appear in Pokemon GO. Instead, you’ll want to use Grass and Electric Pokemon to bring to a Suicune raid. Venusaur, Victreebell and Exeggutor are all good choices from the Grass camp, with Zapdos, Jolteon and Raichu excellent Electric possibilities.

Bonus Tip: If you’ve already managed to nab one of the Legendary dogs in your region last month, don’t forget they can be of big use battling the one you’re currently facing. Raikou can bring the pain to Suicune, and Suicune can do the same to Entei.
