While Pokemon GO has always brought people together right from the time it was launched, a lot of the initial interaction it fostered between mobile gamers took place outside the actual app. It wasn’t until the arrival of raids that players assembled naturally to battle raid bosses much too powerful to tackle alone.

Niantic is constantly adding new Pokemon, additional content and features to Pokemon GO, but raids continue to be one of the topics most frequently discussed among regular players and lapsed players looking to jump back in. One of the questions that inevitably arises is a straightforward one: Which raid bosses are in Pokemon Go, anyway?

The answer varies because Niantic rotates the raid bosses on a regular basis. However, the rotation still comes from a list, which is something we can help provide.

Before we jump into it, a few things to remember:

  • The level of a raid boss can be determined by the color of the egg that appears above the raid location prior to the arrival of the boss. Level 1 and 2 raids have pink eggs, level 3 and 4 raids have yellow eggs, and level 5 raids have a blue egg.
  • Weather can be important for raids. It doesn’t change the Pokemon that could show up for the battle, but weather can strengthen raid bosses and make them more powerful.
  • There are special level 5 raids called EX Raids that are only accessible by prior invite. Currently, Mewtwo is the only Pokemon to appear in an EX Raid, but that will almost certainly change over time.

It’s beyond the scope of what we do here at Gamezebo to offer up to the minute info on which raid bosses are currently active, but both GamePress and IGN have excellent resources available to let you know exactly which ones you can find right now.
