Pocket Champs is a game about winning races. You don’t actually have any control over those races, though. Instead you’re powering up your champ before the running, climbing, swimming and flying start. There are cards to collect, training to perform and a good deal more.

It’s a game that takes a little bit of getting used to, so we thought it was a good idea to write up a guide to help you through some of the trickier parts. These strategies are designed to make sure you’re finishing in the top three more often than not.

It doesn’t matter if you’re at your first starting line or you’ve already won a good few trophies – there’s going to be something here to help you out. These are the best hints, tips and cheats for Pocket Champs.

Choose the right card

When you’re starting a level, you need to make sure you choose the correct boost card. The game will tell you which card it recommends. Sometimes you’ll have a choice between a couple – go for the most powerful one you have.

Upgrade when you can

When you get enough cards you should upgrade your boosts. The more powerful these are, the better you’re going to do. Don’t just focus on upgrading one card, whenever there’s a chance to upgrade anything, you should take it.

Make sure you’re training when you stop

When you stop playing the game, make sure you’re using a training card. These will keep running even when you’re not playing the game, which means you’ll be more powerful when you pick up the game again.

Play the events

You should play the events whenever you’ve got the tickets to do so. They’re a great way to earn extra coins that you can then spend on making your boosts more powerful. You’ll also unlock new cards and other goodies, so they’re well worth taking part in.

Losing costs trophies

When you don’t finish in the top three, you’re going to lose some trophies. This will push your progression back and can sometimes make you drop down to a level you’ve already completed. That’s not always the worst thing in the world, since it’ll give you a chance to recoup your losses.
